Re: FTP failure.

I didn't manage to find what went wrong within Windows 10, and so finally I did a clean install of the operating system, and that has cured the problem. It's also put right one or two other fairly minor niggles that had shown up. I think that for me a reinstall of the operating system is probably so...

Re: FTP failure.

Further to sfws's suggestion (and I'm sorry I scrambled your initials), I have dug out my old XP laptop, installed cumulus, and lo and behold everything runs normally. It's been on for six hours and hasn't missed a beat. So the problem was not with my web host whom I dumped in favour of another, nor...

Re: FTP failure.

Hello swfs, Thank you for your interesting suggestions, in a distant hazy sort of fashion I was starting to wonder along those lines myself, and if I can remember where it is, I will dig out an old XP laptop I have, and install Cumulus onto it and see how things go. There was one particular Windows ...

Re: FTP failure.

Thanks Terry for your input, but unfortunately no joy. I shall keep bumbling along in the hope of tripping over the answer. :groan:

Re: FTP failure.

Thanks David, I've given that a try but with no success. It seems that whatever single box I tick, or combination of boxes it triggers FTP into working correctly, but only for one or at the most two uploads, and then it sticks once again. Then maybe several hours later, quite arbitrarily, it will up...

Re: FTP failure.

Thank you Steve, longer FTP log herewith. A significant point (possibly) which I forgot to mention is that when the FTP upload fails (most of the time) Cumulus locks up, and the only way I've found to switch it off is to use Task Manager, and then start again. I've tried various web settings but to ...

FTP failure.

For a few weeks now I've been having increasing problems with the FTP utility within Cumulus. I have my station set to update every five minutes, but during a 24-hour period there will typically be just three updates. Manual uploading is likewise very difficult. I'm using Cumulus version 1.9.4 build...

Thanks Dimitis for your advice and for taking the trouble of posting a file shot which was a great help. Thank you.

Steel Series Gauges real update time setting.

I am using Cumulus version 1.9.4 build 1099 and Steel Series Gauges version 2.6.1 My weather station is a WH1080 and I've recently installed the above-mentioned gauges; now unlike the earlier gauges that I was using, I find that the default real-time gauge update period is only 15 seconds, and as my...

Re: Page Refresh.

Well, after a little to-ing and fro-ing things are running normally, this is what the web host did in order to get the required configuration: We have checked your issue and applied the required changes for the website file. As it appears to be a cache issue for nginx on server, we have disabled the...

Re: Page Refresh.

Yes, it struck me as a little strange that a technical support group would in effect be asking me or you how to configure their Apache server. Perhaps it will get moved up the chain, but seeing that the web hosting is costing only £14.99 for a year, I think there is a limit to what I may expect. Jef...

Re: Page Refresh.

Steve, I've been in touch with RS Hosting and after a couple of attempts at explaining the problem, or more accurately what I wanted, and of your advice to me, they have asked the following question: I believe this is something to do with Apache configuration on the server. Can you please consult yo...

Re: Page Refresh.

Dear Steve and Mark, Thank you for your guidance, I will follow this through this afternoon and report back on how it goes. The speed of return on this forum is remarkable, I don't know of one with a turnaround time faster than this, also the advice is effective. Jeff Cook. I've done as you said Ste...

Page Refresh.

Dear all, After having switched web hosts and gotten over the initial problems, I've noticed something which I haven't noticed in the past, namely that whilst the initial page (Now) and the second page (Gauges) update with every five minute ftp refresh, the rest of the pages namely Today through to ...
