Re: Website "Not safe"
I've had a few people contact me to indicate they can't access my websites as browser indicates not safe. I contacted my webhost GoDaddy and they say, by using Google Chrome to my website yes it has malware, and I need to subscribe to their security service at $324 per year for one domain, or a pac...

Re: Installing CMX v4
Good catch. To clarify for everyone, enable/disable determines that will the service start automatically on next reboot or not. Start/stop is used to start or stop the service immediately.rogerthn wrote: ↑Mon 15 Apr 2024 5:56 pm Enable is to enable the service.
Have you triedCode: Select all
systemctl start cumulusmx

Re: Problem with the records menu
Did you transfer correctly all ini files from the old datafolder to the new one? It sounds a bit as if there is the problem. I think so, I followed the instructions provided on this same forum. What I don't understand is why in the administrative area the data is found and seen.. Did you also remem...

Re: Important - Highcharts Licensing
…..if I have understood correctly, your browser loads the libraries from Highcharts Cloud CDN (or browser cache) whenever you open graphs on your local dashboard. Of course (at least under finnish laws) they would have to get a court order to force isp to reveal who was using that particular ip add...

Re: Important - Highcharts Licensing
In my view if you use Highcharts on your public website then you are in breach of their Ts&Cs, however if you only use the dashboard on your PC at home then how are they going to find out. Running CMX itself I don't see they can do anything about. The thing is it is up to the company to prove y...

Re: Important - Highcharts Licensing
You just put yourself forward as the competent negotiator we need ;) Unfortunately handling MS EES is its own very complicated world, and more focused on how to calculate the needed amounts regarding users, cpu sockets, installed products, etc. So my focus was not in the legal side, and therefore u...

Re: Important - Highcharts Licensing
Agreed. But I still have to clarify, that a few years ago I was managing Microsoft licensing for 10k users educational organization, so I would say my guesses are at least a bit educated.

Re: Important - Highcharts Licensing
HCs GPT states ALL versions need a license. not sure if this is lawful to change licensing on versions that did not require a license previously. If we look at copyright (not the same but related) it is not lawful. You can not change copyright backward. I would assume similar for licensing. To make...

Re: **NEW** Cumulus Weather Topsites 2013 - Please Join.
How is that possible? Maybe topsites is forcing something but I can assure you if you click on the link in my sig it’s plain old http. Not for me Ray, it's HTTPS. It's got a Let's Encrypt certificate... I think your browser itself or a browser add-on has ”https anywhere” or similar setting enabled....

Re: Need help adjusting crazy yearly rainfall totals
I’m not expert with Davis equipment, but if I have understood correctly, your station reports directly to Davis weatherlink cloud service, and your iOS app gets its data from there. It has no relation to what modifications you do or don’t do in CumulusMX. So to correct the data shown in mobile app, ...

Re: CUtils 7.0.0 public Beta 2
Probably a false positive (unless Hans has fallen to the dark side  ). Files falsely flagged as trojan are quite usual even in commercial software, in an educational organization a few years ago this was seen on monthly basis. At least F-Secure fixed their databases quickly when the false detec...

Re: Highcharts download file does not exist
The wiki page has been written in 2012, so it is 12 years old. World and highcharts technology have changed a lot since then. As @water01 said, there is no more anything to download, the code is downloaded from Highcharts cloud based CDN. Unfortunately I don’t have the skills to guide you any furthe...

Re: Need help adjusting crazy yearly rainfall totals
I will go through January -April and update and correct each day that has wrong data. I am using a Cocorahs station that is very close to me. And then reboot. Please don’t this time reboot by unplugging the power. Use commands sudo systemctl stop cumulusmx sudo reboot to do it safely from ssh or co...

Re: CMXv4 ExtraSensors Trends
I haven’t run CMX in windows, but on Raspberry latest v3 b3283 starts at about 150MB and due to an unresolved memory leak on some setups it grows up to nearly 2GB in a month on my setup. So in my eyes 450MB is not even worth worrying about if it does not grow constantly. I wonder if the difference i...
