Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.
Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024
(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)
Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024
Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

Re: Wind rose time frame
Hi, If it is indeed 3600 samples, it was originally probably meant to be just the last hour. No I don't think so. AFAIK the 3600 is correct and dates back to (the early days of ?) Steve's original Cumulus 1. That only "read" the data once each minute and typically logged it even less frequ...

Re: WH1080 not transmitting after battery change
Hi, The Icon should indicate that the Transmitter battery is below about 2.5v (i.e. 1.25v per cell), however it may not go out for some hours (or a day) after the cells are replaced as above (or the Console is re-booted). IIRC there is no battery icon for the Console itself, the only indication of l...

Re: Maplin in administration - where to buy spare parts now?
Hi, The (post 2012 ish) transmitter is basically a very simple OOK (AM) type and could be replaced, but the problem is probably the microcontroller which is "Chip On Board" (under a blob of epoxy) or the (largely unidentified) Humidity/temperature sensor which (if it has failed) I believe ...

Re: Battery life
Hi, These stations rarely achieved the claimed 150 metres "open field" range, but it shouldn't affect the transmitter battery consumption, which is simply a "transmit and hope" protocol. I have experienced the Console's microcontroller "crashing" when its batteries get ...

Re: Battery life
Hi, I don't think I can add anything much to my previous post; I wouldn't recommend anything other than 2 x NiMH, or 2 x NiZn, or 1 x LiFePO4 (plus a "placeholder") AA cells, if Alkalines cannot be used. The Wind reed switch should have a current limiting resistor and can be replaced by a ...

Re: Maplin in administration - where to buy spare parts now?
Hi, I believe the transmitter part probably is compatible with a "Maplin" station produced after about 2012, but that link seems an expensive solution. The transmitter should send the Temp/Hum/Wind/Rain data in the same packet format as the WH108x uses, and the "solar pod" genera...

Re: Solar/UV Info
Hi, @HansR: Thanks for your comment. I don't believe that I currently have Editing rights, but let's wait to see if there is any other feedback on my comments. :) @Gyvate: Apologies, my comments were primarily intended as a reply to the OP who did ask specifically about UV. Maybe the ambientweather ...

Re: Solar/UV Info
Hi, ... and a nice compilation of the reasoning behind this can be found at https://help.ambientweather.net/help/why-is-the-lux-to-w-m-2-conversion-factor-126-7/ Hmm, I'm not very impressed with that and IMHO their statement "Solar Radiation is a shorter wave length" is misleading and argu...

Re: UV-Sensor for WH-3080
Hi,
Welcome to the forum. Is this what you are looking for?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303574269608
They do appear to ship to Germany, with quite a reasonable shipping charge (VAT is arranged/paid via ebay/Paypal).
Cheers, Alan.

Re: W-8681-SOLAR no outdoor temp/humidity/wind readings
Hi, ... I manually reconnected the console to the transmitter, .... These stations use two totally separate transmissions for Temp/Hum/Wind/Rain and for Solar data, with different "source addresses" and timing periods (48 and 60 seconds). They use the same radio hardware (so that seems to ...

Re: New weather station
Hi, I don't know about the "Devanti" (nor internet protocols in general), but the Console in the Australian review link does look very similar to the "Pro Signal" station on the CPC/Farnell website , which includes a free .PDF download of the "Operating Instructions". M...

Re: New weather station
Hi, The ebay link appears to be broken, but the review is to an Ecowitt/Fine Offset which connects via WiFi (not USB) and is said to be compatible with MX. A similar version is available in UK from CPC for just over £100. However, I've seen numerous comments that the clarity (viewing angle) of the C...

Re: WS3085 base station locking up
Hi,
Do you have the "Synchronise Fine Offset Reads" option set? It's a well known issue (and possibly the only solution), so try looking though a forum search if you haven't already. Over 100 hits I'm afraid.
Cheers, Alan.

Re: Wind vane replacement
Hi, , the wind vane broke irreparably. How "irreparably" ? Is the vertical shaft still accessible and/or functional? If so, it should be possible to fabricate (and attach with Epoxy glue) a new vane from sheet material, perhaps Acrylic, Aluminium or even recycled packaging material. The pr...

Re: Rebranded WH1080 Sync problems
Hi, The transmitter LED lights up for several seconds when I reapply power then goes into the normal 22 second (approx) blink. The base station, upon powering up gives the normal Icon for searching for a signal for approx 10 seconds .... The WH1080 transmitter is a simple "Send and Hope" s...
