Re: VP2 EnviroMonitor data stream fail
TBH I don't know exactly what the EM gateway sends - AFAIAA it's not documented anywhere that I have access to. But given the sheer number of different sensors that can attach to an EM system, I think that the only practical way for the EM nodes and gateway to operate is to perform only limited proc...

Re: VP2 EnviroMonitor data stream fail
I kindly ask you if there is anything we can do to make pressure on Davis for making possible to use EnviroMonitor by Cumulus. Is there any decoding options or change in protocols that might help you? I'm afraid that the answer here is likely to be a firm no. The way that EM data is structured in t...

Re: Issues Connecting to CumulusMX
Couple of footnotes maybe to help interpret future posts: Any Davis station in the 62x2/3 series, like 6242 (Vue) and 6252/3 (VP2) and 6262/3 (VP2 Plus) will automatically have the new 6313 console. These are now the standard Davis complete stations and the old 6250 (Vue) and 6152/3 & 6162/3 VP2...

Re: Support for the WeatherLink Console
FWIW here's my current assessment of the 6313 console, looking to be as objective as possible: 1. Overall, the 6313 is an excellent addition to the Davis range in my view and will fully meet the needs of many users, especially as successive new firmware versions progressively get released to add fur...

Re: Feedback on WiFi Logger etc please
OK, thanks. So that sounds like WFL specifically (ie rather than Meteo-Pi Ethernet = MPE) and so could be an issue with maintaining WiFi connectivity. Just a tentative thought because there are definitely more WFL units out there than MPE, so could just be reporting bias. But, that said, I'm conscio...

Re: Feedback on WiFi Logger etc please
Thanks Andy. But I'm guessing that what you have is the original Meteo-Pi, which is a micro-HAT for the Pi, or its more recent incarnation, the DIY logger? Despite the unfortunate similarity in name between Meteo-Pi and Meteo-Pi Ethernet. these are actually very different devices. The plain Meteo-Pi...

Re: Feedback on WiFi Logger etc please
I had to put quite a lot of additional code in CMX to cope with the WiFi logger compared with the Davis; it's emulation of the Davis logger is not great. The CMX connectivity is still not perfect, but I'm not prepared to devote any more time/effort into coping with the loggers foibles. Thanks Paul ...

Feedback on WiFi Logger etc please
Just looking for feedback from anyone who is using CMX with WiFi Logger or (especially) Meteo-Pi Ethernet** please: Just a simple question really: Is the logger working well with CMX? Are there any particular issues you've encountered? ** For anyone who is not familiar with Meteo-Pi Ethernet (MPE), ...

Re: Forecasts with an API
It would be pretty cool if CMX did have something like this implemented?! A current conditions icon and text, with a 3 day outlook.. :D Yes, indeed. But I think one problem might be whether it could be done via just a single account at openweather, though maybe they might be open to discussion for ...

Re: Forecasts with an API
No, you can pull the forecast from the site using the API Yes, that was the main point of my post. It's not easy to find such a service without paying high commercial rates, though I think yr.no may do something similar. But I think other people were confirming that CMX pushes data to the map but d...

Re: Forecasts with an API
Isn't this the same site that CumulusMX has an interface with called OpenWeatherMap? Very probably, in which case I'm obviously not up-to-date with this feature. But I guess I'm thinking more of being able to bring the forecast into software (does CMX do this? I'm not aware) and then being able to ...

Forecasts with an API
Happened across this website today: https://openweather.co.uk/ Maybe it's well-known, but new to me and an interesting example of the new breed of sites that provide forecasts with an API that is not just for those with deep pockets. Notable for being London-based and free to use for low-volume, ind...

Re: Davis Prices
Davis are usually pretty good about putting all the screw sizes in the instruction manual for the relevant part, if anyone simply takes the time to look. So for eg the solar sensor the fixing screws for the sensor housing are #6-32 x 1.5". Davis is of course a US manufacturer and so still uses ...
