b4019: API tag: Error - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I've just upgraded from b4018 to b4019 on a Pi3 (32bit bookworm) using the Ecowitt HTTP protocol. On startup I get the error 2024-04-06 04:45:00.718 API tag: Error - Object reference not set to an instance of an object. The program seems to be running fine though. I don't get the same error on a Pi4...

"You are not running the latest version of Cumulus MX"
While I find the new "last error" feature quite useful, I don't think that "You are not running the latest version of Cumulus MX" is an error, but a decision on my part not to upgrade at this time. I would suggest to not flag this as an "error".

Wind data recorded by Ecowitt API vs. HTTP
My Ecowitt weather station uses 4 external sensors/modules that send data to two GW1000 gateways. One gateway is paired with a Raspberry PI4B running Raspbian Bullseye, the other one with a FriendlyARM NanoPi M1 running Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS. Both have CumulusMX v3.27.0 installed, the Raspi uses the Ec...

Re: Top of the hour data missing / not processed
Wow, that did the trick. Attached is the old cumulusmx.db. Hopefully it will give you a hint what happened here.

Re: Top of the hour data missing / not processed
Mark, I've changed the protocol to "Ecowitt API" per your suggestion. I've attached the debug log covering about 4 hours' worth of data and the relevant part of the Oct23log.txt file. I'll keep the debug log running in case you need more data. The error in line 123 of the debug log "G...

Top of the hour data missing / not processed
A week ago I updated my Raspi4 and afterwards rebooted. For the next two hours everything ran as normal, but ever since on the full hour the data in the monthly log file is missing, the extra web files are not processed and the 3rd party data are not uploaded. I'm pretty sure this is NOT a CumulusMX...

Re: Cumulus reports air quality data although sensor not connected
Did you stop and restart CumulusMX after you 'removed' the WH41 ? No, I did not. And I don't really see why it should make a difference. From November to March I also disconnect the rain gauge and the log shows this as "Error, missing rainfall". I would expect a similar message when there...

Cumulus reports air quality data although sensor not connected
Due to the severe weather with close to -40°C last week I brought my WH41 air quality sensor indoors to prevent damage to the batteries. I also disabled the sensor in the GW1000 configuration. I did not deselect Extra Sensor 1 in the Cumulus configuration. With no data coming from the gateway, Cumul...

Re: Low Battery Warning - Cumulus Console
I don't know if this is related, but I've seen low battery warnings for my Ecowitt WH32 Temp/humidity sensor even with brand new lithium AA batteries. As it turned out, the reason was a poorly chosen location for the transmitter, facing AWAY from the receiver. The Ecowitt app showed a connected symb...

Re: Email alerts with gmail account
Hi Paul, I'm not getting it. When I sign into my Gmail account, go to security and try to set up 2-step verification I get the following screen: 2-step.jpg There's no device listed under "These devices can get prompts" because I don't have any! When I click "Don't see your device"...

Re: Email alerts with gmail account
Sadly, either of the authentication apps only work on mobiles (cell phone or tablet) ... which I don't have. And I'm not going to buy a hardware device (would it even work on a Raspi?), so I guess I will have to live without the Cumulus email alerts.

Re: Email alerts with gmail account
Well ....
In order to set up two factor authorisation you need a cell phone ... and I don't have one. There is no cell phone coverage in our area so owning a cell phone would be pointless

Email alerts with gmail account
Today I got an email from Google: A suspicious app was blocked from accessing your account Following a link for an explanation I got: To help keep your account secure, starting May 30, 2022, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google ...

I have used Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries in a WH1080 for 3 years running, through -40°C winters and 35°C summers. When I eventually exchanged them for new ones, I could still use the old ones for a TV remote our my computer mouse for a long time. I have no experience with rechargebles, bu...
