I'm back all

Been out of the loop dealing with my dads illnesses and his passing and my own stuff. Anyway all is well now. My question is I love Cumulus and it works well with my weather website. Is there a stand alone IP hub that Cumulus will work with? I saw a couple on Ambients site. I want to free up my netb...

Re: Wind chill and Weather Underground

+Well as per Steve's reply he is correct on the 10C rule for wind chill to show on the WU forecast page. Once my temps dropped below 10C the wind chill showed up. I had in the meantime asked WU what the protocol was for this to show up. Steve hit the nail on the head. WU's reply was a bit humorous. ...

Re: Wind chill and Weather Underground

Well that answered that ;) We'll be getting well below the 10C mark later today and evening with 25-30 mph wind so we'll see what happens. Thanks Steve!

Re: Wind chill and Weather Underground

Not real sure on the 10c rule either since Questa College is reporting 50.4F and I am reporting 50.5F? I've sent an inquiry off to WU, will be interesting to see their reply anyway. I'll post it when I get it. Usually takes me a day or 2 to get an answer.

Re: Wind chill and Weather Underground

Thanks Steve. Makes sense. I found a few more in my area that are also reporting the wind chill. Interesting indeed. Might drop WU a note and ask them to see. On edit.... in my area cloud reporting, visibility and such etc and such are reported my NOAA MAIDS stations. I inquired on that since one mo...

Re: Wind chill and Weather Underground

They must be using some other software. I didn't mean that wind chill is not a parameter that can be sent to WU using Cumulus; I meant that it can't be sent to WU at all, from a PWS, using any software. I guess I'm assuming you mean by a PWS fine offset station whereas other types of stations used ...

Re: Wind chill and Weather Underground

Steve, actually there are some PWS's in my area that DO report wind chill and it is the very first line under current temp on their Wunderground forecast pages, which brought me to the original question. There are at least 3 here that I know of ;) There re others as well. Zip is 93442 and Cuesta Col...

Re: Wind chill and Weather Underground

Thanks Steve. I saw it on other local stations as the first line under the current temp. They must be using some other software.

Re: Erroneous rain today

OK I solved my pole wobble issue permanently with the rain gauge (relocated gauge to solid mount) and if course in the process today gained some erroneous rainfall again, but thanks to everyone's help I was able to get the data straight! I guess there is nothing you can do for that erroneous rain da...

Re: Erroneous rain today

Thanks Gerard... In my case it would be a huge task as the only part Ii can unplug on my is the one end that goes into the sensor which is housed in the big shield. It does not unplug from the gauge itself and is hard wired in the gauge. Thus moving it will cause erroneous rain readings so wondered ...

Re: Erroneous rain today

Everything went fine and reads right now including my Cumulus page. It did not change however on my Weather Underground history page for today. Will this remain the (todays erroneous.01) or will it eventually update?
