Re: FO Wind Vane replacement for 1-wire ADS?
Hi, The first question is whether the "missing" directions are reported as "no direction" or just incorrectly. Ideally a complete list of all actual vane directions against the "reported" directions should make theoretical analysis possible. But even one or two sample ...

Re: FO Wind Vane replacement for 1-wire ADS?
Hi Mick, The FO sensor actually has 8 reeds with the intermediate directions (NNE, etc.) achieved (in theory) by two adjacent reeds closing, and connecting two resisrtors in parallel. Thus the resistance/voltage values do not run in sequence but in "Higher / Lower" pairs. So the failure o...

Re: FO Wind Vane replacement for 1-wire ADS?
Hi, The Fine Offset Wind Vane, for example as sold here , definitely does not use the "One Wire" protocol. The Fine Offset sensor simply switches in one of 16 resistance values (across the two outer pins of the RJ11 connector) which is decoded by the T/H Transmitter. If it's the Hobby Boa...

FO Wind Vane replacement for 1-wire ADS?
I have a faulty wind vane on my ADS 1-wire Anemometer. The unit looks exactly the same as the wind vane used in FO stations. Could i use a FO wind vane as a straight swap replacement and use in my 1-wire ADS Anemometer?
Cheers

Recreate the Dayfile.txt file
After a Virtual VP crash yesterday i had to restart Cumulus. On restart i noticed that rainfall details for the month and year were incorrect. I checked the dayfile.txt for any blank lines but was surprised to discover no details from the 5th to the 13th. I checked the April12log file and the record...

Re: Sending Data to 2 web servers
Who 'hosts' the domain name is independent of where the DNS entry for that domain points (in all the cases I have come across anyway). None of my web sites are 'hosted' by the company that maintains my domain names - they just give me a control panel where I can configure the DNS entries as I wish)...

Re: Sending Data to 2 web servers
I may be missing something, but couldn't you just alter your DNS entries so that both domain names point to the same server? Just like TNET weather said would this be possible if dealing with two separate hosts??? If so how would i do this? Mick Hi Mick, I just wondered why if the sites are identic...

Re: Sending Data to 2 web servers
If you wish identical content on the two sites - ftp to one site (A) and then on the alternate site (B) do a redirect to the first site. No one will ever notice! On site B use an html page named index.htm containing: <body> <script> location = "http://www.site A"; </script> </body> That i...

Re: Now available: AJAX/PHP multilingual website templates
I have posted the question in a separate thread but Ken might be the person to answer my question so i will ask here. Basically i want to run 2 identical versions of my website on 2 different servers. Cumulus has the facility to upload to one server. Steve has suggested using this method http://wik...

Re: Sending Data to 2 web servers
As well as the main data file for the 'base' pages, there are other reports / files which may be required for extended information. Whilst do-able by scripting it would beter to find a dual ftp solution. The example you quote suggests the same (mirrored) site ? Yes basically the address for my php ...

Re: Sending Data to 2 web servers
You should be able to ftp to your 'prime' site and the 'source' the wxCUdata for the 'secondary' from the 'prime'. ;) I think ...... Would i use the software mentioned by Steve to do this or do you know of another method? Edit: Also which files would i need to use to get the Saratoga Scripts to wor...
