Re: Cumulus freezes at start up
Hi Kennelmaster, I have seen this happen, especially when Cumulus has a few weeks worth of data to upload. In my case I had occasion to go back to an old backup of my data to eliminate a gap in my records by forcing a re-upload from the base unit. Just as in your case, Cumulus had a large amount of ...

Re: Temp/Wind/Rain went nuts overnight??????????
Thanks Steve, you were right. Rebooting the computer fixed it. I then tried to retrieve the lost date by winding back the time and date in today, ini, but it didn't pick anything up from yesterday. I had deleted yesterday.ini becuse it is rubbish, and it was not re-created. Is there any way to make C...

Re: Temp/Wind/Rain went nuts overnight??????????
I have had a nutty experience myself and it is still happening. Whe I woke up this morning I had a couple of new temperature records, a lowest Maximun of -500C and a Highest minimum of 999C !!. Since then the data uploaded to the web hasn't changed, although it is regularly updated. The trend graphs...

Re: Peoples weather station photos
Humidity readings are comparable with those from other nearby stations, so I don't think that this is a problem. For example, my current reading is 59%. That from a Davis based station 5 miles away is 62%. Check it for yourself http://homepage.ntlworld.com/m.dixon4/Cumulus/index.htm against http://w...

Re: Peoples weather station photos
This is a bit unconventional I know, but it works. A natural Stevenson Screen.... http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f107/martinDn/P1050112.jpg The temperature and humidity sensor is hidden inside the bush (you can see the cables a the top). The bush itself grows in a raised bed, so the sensor is aro...

Re: Rain data errors
No way would I ever go back to EasyWeather. I find Cumulus much easier to use and more feature rich. And whenever I had a problem the answer was here. I still run EasyWeather from time to time, just to keep it up to date. I have had some problems with rain spikes, which I now know how to fix in Cumu...

Re: Unable to Edit Rainfall Records
Thanks Steve, I don't know how I missed that. It worked brilliantly. Two other things I noticed (they are probably mentioned somewhere too) 1. The rainfall counter is actually in mm (or presumably whatever units you use) so I was able to preserve the 3.6mm rain that I worked out actually fell today ...

Re: Unable to Edit Rainfall Records
Happy New Year everyone. I am still having problems with rainfall spikes. I have accepted that as a fact of life now, but the problem is how to edit them out without destroying my rainfall record. I had hoped I could make a clean start with the new year (my last year's rain figures are completely wr...

Re: Wind and rain spike
I had another spike this morning too. Wind speed of 101mph and a sudden deluge of 20mm rain which didn't happen (steady slight drizzle at the time). The temprature filtering worked fine, as it didn't get a temperature spike, but windchill shot down to about -15C!! I'm sure this isn't a Cumulus probl...

Re: Maplins USB Weather Forecaster (Fine Offset) - £69.99
Hi, First post here! I have been running one of these units for over a month now, and am generally pleased with it. I could tell you tales of the fun I've had siting the sensors and calbrating so that I can maintain continuity with my old temperature records going back many years, bu that would be a...
