Re: WH1081PC discontinued at Maplins

Thanks Steve, I hope you will be able to work it out, as Gina says it would be good not to have to use Easyweather. I guess the manufacturer is not going to too helpful if you straight out asked them for details on their station. Naturally they will want people to use their software. I wonder if any...

Re: WH1081PC discontinued at Maplins

Thanks Steve, that interesting. I have found that Easyweather takes the reading from the WS1081 console and puts it in the Easyweather data file with a time 9 minutes greater than that on the console. So a data set logged in the console with a time of say 1421 is downloaded to the data file with a t...

Re: WH1081PC discontinued at Maplins

Hi Beteljuice I just checked the definition of resolution with regard to instruments. It is defined as the smallest change in a measured value that the instrument can detect. Its also known as sensitivity. So its nothing to do with whatever you are using to display the data, its what the instrument ...

Re: WH1081PC discontinued at Maplins

Yes but if the display resolution is 0.1mm doesn't that imply that the sensor resolution is also 0.1mm. Why would you have a display with a resolution of 0.1m when the sensor resolution is only 0.3mm.

Re: WH1081PC discontinued at Maplins

Steve You are probably right, the documentation seems to have alot of errors. I got my WH1080 manual from the Cumulus Wiki, if you go to the main page and look at recent page additions you will see a link to 'Fineoffset user manual'. If you go to page 14 of that manual you will see that the specs in...

Re: WH1081PC discontinued at Maplins

Mike There are only some minor differences. According to my manuals ... The WS1081 has a shorter range (300ft) than the WH1080 (450ft). The WS1081 has a rainfall resolution of 0.3mm (up to 1000mm) while the WH1080 has 0.1mm. The WS1081 has a humidity range of 10% to 99% while the WH1080 has 1% to 99...

Re: WH1081PC discontinued at Maplins

Hi everyone. I see some of you are talking about different models that have radio control clocks and different frequencies etc. I have the WS1081PC model (note the WS not WH). This model uses 433MHz, has a range of 300ft, and does not have a radio controlled clock. I think it's the model intended fo...

Re: WH1080 weather stations

Hi Guys I bought myself one of these Fine Offset weather stations for Christmas and I have to tell you I am sold on it, based on what you get for the price. I bought mine here in New Zealand for NZ $240 which is incredibly cheap for a professional class station. I didn't know they were made by Fine ...

Re: Cloud Types

Hi guys I was a meteorological technician/observer with the New Zealand Meteorological Service back in the eighties before they replaced us all with automatic stations. Based on my training and experience (and memory) gumm's friend is incorrect. Nimbostratus or Cumulonimbus may be reported as being ...
