I had been putting my information in the Configuration Station, ignoring the Configuration Display. And yes, it does show up in Cumulus.ini, but again in [Display] rather than [Station].

Yep, mine is what I would call an 'alarming sound'. However I see the display says that the alarm is OFF. Will look into it again in the new year.

Hi Maffie - your problem sounds just like mine, posted under "Another FO Bites the Dust". Intermittent beeping, but on mine it seems to be the in house temperature display that flashes in time with the beeps.
No cure yet.
