Re: WH1090 touchscreen

Sorry to have deleted the photos from my website. So rather than PM individuals, here are the photos of the making of the switch pad to replace a broken touch screen. I hope they are pretty explanatory. The leads on the back of the PCB are numbered 1-8. Each switch connects two contacts. http://www....

Re: WH1090 touchscreen

Assuming that the problem lies in the touch screen glass and film, one radical solution is to replace the touch screen completely with a set of 16 (or 15) small momentary contact switches. I've done it with success and have photos and charts if you're interested. They had been posted at one time her...

Re: Catch Up

Thanks again PaulMy, mia culpa
I had been putting my information in the Configuration Station, ignoring the Configuration Display. And yes, it does show up in Cumulus.ini, but again in [Display] rather than [Station].

Amazing how much one can forget in a year :bash:

All sorted now.

Re: Catch Up

Hey Paulmy, greetings to Ontario. I do see this From the Help in [Configuration] [Display] Heading "This changes the title heading on the main screen." but don't see where it says HOW to set it. I always thought it was in cumulus.ini, but changing that hasn't changed my page yet. I've trie...

Catch Up

I had been using Cumulus for a couple of years, but just recently installed the newer Ver 1.92, build 1032. Nice opening page, Steve! And I see a new feature there that I can find no explanation for. What is the "Catch Up", and when would one need it. I haven't seen it light up yet....

Re: Homebuilt Wind Vane 1deg resolution

It has been a long time since anyone has mentioned this project. There is new info in the Homebuilt Forum, look for Hall Effect Sensors.

Re: Hall effect sensor for wind vane, or ultrasonic sensors

I know it has been a while since this thread has been visited, but perhaps here is a little more info someone can use. I recently acquired part of a Nexxtek system and dismantled the weather vane and anemometer. The anemometer uses a simple tiny ring magnet on the cups' shaft to operate a reed switc...

Re: No Data Transmitter / Receiver Issue

Probably a bit late for you now, but I just found this in the Easy Weather instructions  QUOTE: Insert two AA batteries in the thermo-hygrometer, as shown in Figure 7. The transmitter LED will light up momentarily (4 seconds), and then flash once every 48 seconds for each transmission update. ...

Re: No Data Transmitter / Receiver Issue

I am very sure that putting the batteries in my TX is what caused it to fail. :bash:

Re: Lattitude & Longitude site

Monkey38 - don't forget there is the 'equation of time' that varies by minutes every day throughout the year.

Re: Beeping W-8681

Yep, mine is what I would call an 'alarming sound'. However I see the display says that the alarm is OFF. Will look into it again in the new year.
All the best for 2012 everyone.

Re: Beeping W-8681

Hi Maffie - your problem sounds just like mine, posted under "Another FO Bites the Dust". Intermittent beeping, but on mine it seems to be the in house temperature display that flashes in time with the beeps.
No cure yet.

Re: Another FO Bites the Dust

Owned the FO 265NC just short of 2 years. Transmitter died after maybe 6 months. New display has just started playing up, probably short of 4 months. Even now having a second (dead TX) probably isn't much good, unless this one dies of a different, repairable, complaint. Possibly I could remove the i...

Another FO Bites the Dust

First I broke the touch screen on the receiver console, so I replaced the screen with switches (see different thread). That worked fine. :) Then the transmitter quit, :( so I bought a replacement. The new one is working fine so far. Now the new display starts playing up :x . It beeps randomly...

Re: Weather related sensor

Maybe one more non electronic solution? To measure the depth in my 20,000 liter water tank in Australia, I made the following: a weighted float, very fine nylon line (fishing line), old spring driven alarm clock, glass jar large enough for the clock, plastic (PVC) tube large enough for the weighted ...
