Re: Cumulus Locks Up and all Data Flat-lines

Is this typical of low battery in the sending unit??? That's the only thing I can think of. Nothing else has changed in the 1 year and 4 months it has been in use - still on the original lithium battery(s).

Cumulus Locks Up and all Data Flat-lines

This is the second time this has happened. Cumulus data flat lines and when I get to the computer, it has locked up. Only Cumulus is frozen - everything else on the computer works normal. The data all flat-lines, but the minimum temp. shows 999.0 and the max temp. shows -500.0. Also the min. pressur...

Re: Temp/Wind/Rain went nuts overnight??????????

"Fun job"!!! I've been down that road before trying to fix rainfall. We had an extremely windy day this past winter and evidently the direction was at just the right angle that it rocked back and forth and gave me several hours of rainfall that didn't happen. I also had one event where we ...

Re: Temp/Wind/Rain went nuts overnight??????????

As far as I can remember, there haven't been any changes of electronic or wireless devices in the recent past that could be affecting the wireless transmission of signal, but thanks!

Re: Temp/Wind/Rain went nuts overnight??????????

This was a one-time event 36 hours ago. I haven't taken the batteries out, but that's my next move - thanks.

Also, my unit is over a year old. I doubt Ambient would do anything for it if it is a bad unit.

Thanks for all the ideas. If you have more, let me know.

Re: Temp/Wind/Rain went nuts overnight??????????

I have gotten several "lost sensor contact" errors. But that has happened off and on for the entire time I've had the unit. So I didn't think much about that. Also, no lightning. We are VERY dry in northwest and basically all of western OK. I would love to see some lightning around. That w...

Re: Temp/Wind/Rain went nuts overnight??????????

The batteries are only about a year old and I put lithium batteris in the outside unit. I have regular duracell alkalines in the indoor wall unit.

Temp/Wind/Rain went nuts overnight??????????

At 1:47 this morning my temperature, wind, and rainfall stats all went nuts! 16.02" rain (we're in a drought), 42 degrees (actual low was 80) and wind gusts above 22mph (it was calm all night). Any ideas?????? Could low battery be causing this kind of strange readings?

Thanks,
Ken

Re: Model WS1080 Forecast

In no way should you apologize for anything you've put in the software. You are so far over most of our heads and I for one am VERY appreciative of your work and continued "upkeep" for the software and users. Thanks for the help.

Re: Model WS1080 Forecast

What should it be set to and where do I change that - in the text file I copied this from? Honestly, I don't remember ever setting these values. I thought they were recorded from all time lows and highs of pressure readings??????? What I meant by screwy is like yesterday we had hot, dry, sunny weath...

Re: Model WS1080 Forecast

Steve, I seem to get screwy forecasts as well. I'm not sure I understand what the string should look like. Mine are below:

UseCumulusForecast=1
UseCumulusPresstrendstr=1
FCpressinMB=0
FClowpress=28.7999992370605
FChighpress=31
ForceVPBarUpdate=0

Is this correct?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Heat index errors

Just checked my graphs from yesterday and that does appear to be what's happening. The "new" calculator makes much more sense to calculate heat indexes with humidty below 40%. We had heat indexes yesterday mid-day of 114-115 and in the middle of that we had two times where there was "...

Re: Heat index errors

If you use the calculator above it is possible to get a HI upto 2C LOWER than ambient temperature ! - (RH <20%) Also if you follow the "Explanation / Graph" link it still does not show any values for less than 40% RH. Evidently the Weather Channel uses this same calculation. All this week...
