Re: PRO2 reader ro Cumulus don't match
I have been have an issue lately with disparities in my rainfall readings between what the reading on the Vantage Pro2 unit says and what the Cumulus records. Last night for example the Pro2 unit recorded .34" of rain, which is what my CoCoRahs tube also recorded. However, the reading from Cum...

New Station, Old problem: Connecting VP2 Console to Windows PC
Hello to all, Has been a long time without posting a single character here. My former university in Maracaibo has finally made to purchase a brand new VP2+ with USB datalogger and since I don't live in Venezuela I have providing some remote support, they want to run at the same time in a Windows PC ...

Re: Radiation Shield accuracy
Hi guys, sorry t o write to quite an old topic, but I would like to give to my station a new sensor extra in a shield and would like to pinpoint a kind of a new on market shield called MeteoShield from Barani company. I have ordered it several weeks ago and did a lot of tests in low wind and high s...

Re: Changing Date Format
Problem solved. I had to change my Windows 10 format and things are working now. Thanks; Gord Due the situation here I have a long time without using Cumulus, but as far as I remember, changing the system date/Time formats affects also the date/time format in your log files, so probably you have a ...

Re: State of the art - sun recorder
My last contribution in this thread is about 5 years old so [...snip...] Alan and I went thru a hectic period with brain storms, various proto types etc. and in April 2011 we were ready to deliver our sun recorder to a few test users, and after some time we the recorder operational worldwide in UK,...

Re: Review large amounts of data
Folks, I need to access the last 2 years worth of data at hourly intervals. Anyone done this before? Whats the best way to approach it - given excels mlimitations, and the lack of files available. is there a way to amend the logging in cumulus to support this analysis? Warrandyte: I learn the same ...

Re: Wunderground Catch Up / Vue / Cumulus
It is an oldish thread I know but while searching for how to do this (having lost 8 hours of data at wu due to internet outage), I came across this article that might help others in the future... http://www.hilltop-cottage.info/blogs/adam/?p=187 The only major problem I found was that it doesn't te...

Re: La Crosse 2308 and wind spikes at 28.4 mph.
La Crosse 2308 and wind spikes at 28.4 mph. I have been struggling with an EMI problem only effecting wind spikes.I thought I was getting EMI induced into the Vane/anemometer cable on the roof. I tried Ferrite coils on both ends of the wind cable... no effect on the spikes. I added Ferrite coils to...

Re: Vantage Vue more reliable than Ambient WS-1090?
I have just got my VP2 yesterday evening. I assembled it in the house and powered it up, before I could read the manual what to do next the console was saying it was connected to station 1 :D Changed a couple of settings in Cumulus and it has been on line since. In fact I have deleted the data from...

Re: Custom made weather station
I would like to ask if i can make Cumulus work with my custom made weather station. For your info, i can create any kind of data array (since i can program my microcontroller) at any serial data speed. So, is there the capability that Cumulus can accept data from a its own simple protocol, or i hav...

Re: Arduino and 1-wire based home built weather station.
Now I'm looking at the sensors - how many and which pins they require. Everything 1-wire goes on one single digital pin, which takes care of wind speed & direction, light level and rain gauge. Temperature/humidity will use the DHT22 and one pin but for both indoor and outdoor, that's two. Gina,...

Re: Arduino and 1-wire based home built weather station.
Gina, I would recommend you leave it as "bucket tips", because you can in the future change your rain gauge and maintain your recordings only changing the appropriate conversion factor to mm or inches. Hmm, but then would you not have to apply different conversion factors to the data depe...

Re: WM-918 / WX-200 protocol and Cumulus
The Packet BF 02 is the "Rain rate: digit a", seems to be used by Cumulus too. No, Cumulus definitely doesn't use that. The spec I used to write the code doesn't define that byte so I didn't use it. ummm..I' haven't noted this, I have the "Calculate 10-min wind average" and &quo...

Re: Arduino and 1-wire based home built weather station.
These are only rough at this stage. Yes, temperature will be in degrees Celsius with one decimal place and negative values, of course. Not sure whether to convert rainfall to mm or leave it as bucket tips. The latter is probably easiest. With my present rain gauge, 1 bucket tip = 0.04mm. Gina, I wo...
