Steve, Sorry to waste your time, looks like it was just a dodgy USB cable. Got it to work during the week after a fiddle. Going to buy new cable and will let you know if continues. Thanks and sorry mate. Peter M

Mine is on the roof of my house, as I suggest most are. I bought a 3v transformer and ran cables to the transmitter connectors in the battery housing easy to solder and fit in weatherproof, works a treat blackouts not withstanding !!

I was having heaps of issues with my WH1091 with battery life, got the s^*&its with at and bought a transformer that runs the correct voltage (3.0v I think) and removed the batteries all together from the transmitter, ran the wiring through the roof tiles and to a power point in the roof. Works ...

The base has a scale of 0-100% for capacity, I figured when it was 100% it could take no more data in, or would start dropping off the oldest data and I want to catch it before this happens.
