Re: Protocol Changes

Aha, protocols, they could be studied using an RTL-SDR dongle on 433MHz. I have an energy monitor that uses FSK and there is plenty of software to read the ENERGY meter transmitter fron it's raw date.

Just an idea

Re: Can't get sensor to pair / connect

Cheap SDR dongle. sit the transmitter on top and wait. set the bandwidth to 100KHz either side of 433.900MHz and watch the screen or turn the speakers up.

Re: Can't get sensor to pair / connect

Buy a cheap SDR dongle and you can listen up on 433MHz and see if it's actually transmitting. Mine has died as well, still flashes but nothing is transmitted.

Fine Offset HQ.

I have just written to FO group requesting a 433 old style transmitter. Has anyone ever written to FO and had a response?

Re: Transmitter repair.

Hi Alan. The Si4021 is not a friendly little chip to investigate, however looking at the "standard" usage application notes, I can see a little bunch of SMD inductors around the RF O/P stage, candidates for the multimeter, especially L3 which supplies power to the >finals< :geek: I have 3.12 V Vdd, ...

Re: Transmitter repair.

Hi Alan. So yours is up on 868MHz, which nowadays I find odd because OFCOM seemed to have grabbed every frequency up from 500MHz for yet MORE mobile fone space. There it is on my board 433.92, I am spoilt for receivers from 100MHz upwards to 2GHz-ish. The board is back in the desiccating jar, I have...

Re: Transmitter repair.

Hmmm, thanks for the heads up on non compatability issue Alan. To this point now, I have stripped the PCB out, given the board a flush with "Servisol" and scrub with toothbrush. I left it on a radiator overnight and it's now in a sealed jar that's full of dried out silica-gel. I figure if water has ...

Transmitter repair.

Hi all. Has anyone successfully repaired a transmitter? The transmitter on mine flashes the LED every 48 seconds (or so) but doesn't put out any RF, I am watching an SDR radio tuned to 433.9 Mhz and have the bandwidth opened right up, nothing being sent out when the light flashes. I could get a spar...

Very smooth site, it follows my weather here within a degree or two for the last week. I have bookmarked it.

I absolutely hate the BBC weather site and it's "backward wind arrows". :bash:

Dust

Has anyone noticed the layer of fine pink dust that this easterly wind has brought with it?

Re: High pressure in north England

We got to a similar high yesterday 1040mB, the wind has swung to a light north easterly, a temperature outside of 3.4C and it feels REALLY cold.

Re: How often is your sensor system sending data?

The console expects to receive a transmission every 48 seconds, if the console does not receive a valid transmission within about 8 minutes then you get the "bars" on the console and gaps in your data.

The 48 second transmission is fixed inside the transmitter.
