Finally got round to doing the scripts for the second language pages. Both pages look much better now.

Re: What screen resolution does your Cumulus PC use?

Hi Sunfish Mine is 1 GB and works fine running cumulus, wxtoimg and webcamXP. More memory is never a bad thing though I guess m0cix My screen resolution, on an old Dell LCD is, 1152 X 864, and the Cumulus display is fine. I wonder if the EeeBox will cause problems with that? The display is OK--a was...

Re: Temperature data spikes revisited

Hi all just for info - have erratic-ish temp readings too - and tried the 'snubber' 100ohm resistor and 0,5µF capacitor across the anemometer read switch and the temp readings are much smoother than they were. Am going to put together a better sun screen and shield the cable inside the suppor...

Re: Wind vane damping

Hi I have modified my wind vane with a tape tail extension and I gently prised off the top (yes it's a pushfit - quite fragile I think but mine didn't break..) going round with a blade at different spots to try and not break it. I have place a thin rubber 'damping' washer underneath and pushed it ba...

Re: Fine Offset Station data errors

Thanks Steve
I've set the ewtempdiff to 2 degrees. Hopefully it'll be less likely to be triggered under normal conditions then. I think the spikes I got were very large when they occured (I use orignal cable but a longer mast).
Will see how it goes..
cheers :)

Re: Fine Offset Station data errors

Hi Steve yup, think so 1° I think. I have attached the two graphs for comparison. It was cold in the night and warmed up really quickly so I guess it tipped the threshold of the spike filtering. Maybe I should increase the spike removal threshold. I used to get spikes at high windspeeds I think. I m...

Re: Fine Offset Station data errors

Hi - had the temperature error thing yesterday again. Data ok in logger but cumulus insisting outside temp flat-lined all day. 'Rewound' ie reloaded data from the station by using using back ups- worked a treat- all ok now. Not sure what caused it- only weather data seemed effected and only above a ...

Re: Dual Language website

Thanks for that Paul! am in the process of setting up a dual language (engl/german) site too. Your discussion really helped- didn't suffer the ftp problems tho. Plan to pinch your Java script for the moon phases- thanks for posting it. Have taken the lazy approach for the forcast text and just added...

Re: What screen resolution does your Cumulus PC use?

I use an Asus Eee PC netbook atom N270 1GB ram -with windows XP (cos of the ultra low power consumption and lowish second hand price) screen res is 1024 x 600 Cumulus seems to cope ok , (occasionally sub-windows go off the bottom of the screen and you can't see the OK buttons to get rid of them- fid...

Re: Fine Offset Station data errors

Hi my fine offset station has been recording ok but sending (the same repeated) wrong data to cumulus- which has quite happily uploaded the flat-lined data to my website for 24 hrs! Don't know what caused it- maybe a not properly closed down easyweather- unplugging and plugging the usb cable seems t...

Re: Rain Gauge- inaccuracy

I have fitted a cheap funnel (diy store) and an upside down plant pot with the bottom cut out. It has increased the collecting area a bit so I use a correction factor 0.7 (calculated this - difference in areas) and it seems pretty spot on. I think the original 'bucket' value of O.2 mm is ok, but wit...

Re: Gauges Not Working On Web Page - EasyWeather/Cumulus

Gosh just spent an hour trying to 'fix' the same thing - really thought I'd done it but went back to check anyway after reading this thread... had forgotten the dbimages directory....
Silly me! :-)
