Re: Console temperature reading problem
Thanks Alleycat for the explanation. For the time being, I think I'll just swap both windgauges (and cables) and keep the old ones as backup. What kind of grease is suitable for sealing the connectors?

Re: Console temperature reading problem
Strange... when wind is connected alone, everything works. When rain is connected alone, everything works. But when I connect both of them, temperature goes nuts. And I'm using the new temp/sender -unit.

Re: Console temperature reading problem
No new toys (unfortunately) for me. The closest neighbour isn't too near, so I doubt that's the problem.
I disconnected the wind and rain gauges last evening and the temperatures seem to be on scale again! I'll try the gauges one by one later today.

Re: Console temperature reading problem
This keeps getting more and more interesting. I got a spare station. First, I tried the new console with the old stuff, same thing, crazy temperature readings and and console (and Cumulus) keeps having problems reading data. Then I changed the "main" unit outside. STILL the same problem. T...

Console temperature reading problem
My station started to act crazy last night. Temperatures started to jump from -40c to +120c and Cumulus flashing errors "Data input appears to have stopped - check your station and connections". I changed all the batteries and reseted the console but it didn't help. All the other outside r...

Re: v 1.91 beta comments - F-Secure problem
Without going into too much detail, FTP uses a number of ports. It establishes a connection to port 21 of the server and a return port back to your PC, usually on port 20. These are used as control and data connections. Your PC will also use an ephemeral (temporary) port number to complete these co...

Re: v 1.91 beta comments - F-Secure problem
Thanks for your suggestions werribee. I'm not too familiar with F-Secure, even though I have used it for some 5 years now. The reason for this is, that so far I didn't need to. Everything has worked fine, even Cumulus before the new version. I can (and have) allowed Cumulus inbound and outbound acce...

v 1.91 beta comments - F-Secure problem
For some reason, my F-Secure has gone crazy with the new 1.9.1/952. It keeps asking permission to allow outbound connections every couple of minutes (most likely when the FTP-upload is running, 1 minute interval at the moment.). I keep allowing it with "remember this for the current program&quo...

Re: Sunbird Screenlet (Ubuntu)
We definitely need this ported to Vista/W7 gadget, this Screenlet is a beauty! It would be a bit overshooting to install Ubuntu just for this

Re: High wind / High gust
I feel slightly embarrassed. Maybe I'll just add the same multiplier to guststeve wrote:Oh, right, that explains it then.Rampe wrote:I forgot to mention, that I have windspeed multiplier of 1.13, if that makes a difference. No multiplier for gusts (as suggested in the Wiki).

Re: High wind / High gust
It's possible there's a bug in the average speed calculation, I guess. Your average speed line does look a bit high compared to your gust line in Select-A-Graph. I may have introduced a bug when I added the configurable average period, and no-one has noticed it previously. I'll investigate. I forgo...

Re: High wind / High gust
Shouldn't the High Gust be atleast the same as High Wind? Yes, normally you would expect the high gust to be higher than the high wind. What settings have you got for wind speed: "Calculate 10 minute average" (and if you have that set, have you changed the 10-minute value via the ini file...

High wind / High gust
We had a first some-what-windy day since I got my WH-1080. The wind broke all the records, but one thing left me wondering: High Wind 10,7 m/s, High Gust 10,5 m/s. Shouldn't the High Gust be atleast the same as High Wind?

Re: a PHP import script for DayFile and Monthly log files
Ah, I almost managed to add it to my profile. I'm from Finland. The default value in MySQL for LogDate is 0000-00-00. I can manually insert date 2010-03-11, but inserting 10-03-11 works aswell, it just gets automagically reformatted to 2010-03-11. edit: Also, I found "date format: %Y-%m-%d"...
