Small low powered PC

Hi I've been a Cumulus user for some years but had a break as I now live on a narrowboat but have recently returned to my hobby and have bought a new station (WS3083). It works well mounted on my boat and the excellent, stable software is good too. I do upload to a website but it is tricky as power ...

Re: WH1080 - rain gauge not working

Hi Chaps Seems I'm having the same problem! I've gone thru all the usual error checking and finally put a test meter on the contacts of the rain gauge plug and then wiggled the bucket - no response . . all the wires are OK so I guess it's the wee magnet on the bucket finally giving up. I may look in...

Thinking of changing units

Hi
I've kept all my Cumulus units in standard metric ones but a lot of folk have requested the wind speed in mph.
I know there are warnings about changing units . . . what will be the consequences?
Thanks

Re: Vantage Vue - crazy temp/humidity!

Thanks for that - will keep them in mind if the sensor stays AWOL.
We're having shedloads of weather at the moment, so I'll wait and see if it comes back up . . . can a humidity sensor have too much rain??

Re: Vantage Vue - crazy temp/humidity!

Hi Guys Seem to be having a similar problem - but just with the humidity: uwfhumidity.JPG The outside temperature is fine - this is a sister station to my own which is only a few miles away but another 600 feet higher - so it does get a lot of weather! Maybe it needs a clean? It's been there for ove...

Re: Moved to a new PC

Oops - seems I've found that the USB to serial software worked and looking under the device manager, found it had set up on COM 4 so that now works!
Cheers

Moved to a new PC

Hi Having trouble setting up my Vue on a new PC. It has been working fine for some years now but the PC has become unreliable, so we moved it to a new one. Trouble is I don't have a copy of the Weatherlink software to run all the serial port stuff again. Is there a way round this step in the set up?...

Re: Photos of the insides of Fine Offset sensors.

Hello Following this thread as a friend of mine has had problems with both rotating wind sensors - sticking. So, I guess they need new bearings. I think the base model is the Watson W8681 unit? Would the replacement sensors from Maplins work with this? Or are we better off getting new bearings for e...
