Re: MX V4

Did you start v4 as...
> CumulusMX.exe -port 8999

That should work, the "already running" detection includes the port number, so two instances on different ports are allowed to run together.

Re: CMXv4 .NET8 Windows 10

One more thing to do - create a .NET dump file...

Code: Select all

SET DOTNET_DbgEnableMiniDump=1
SET DOTNET_DbgMiniDumpType=1
SET DOTNET_DbgMiniDumpName=C:\CumulusMXv4\coredump.CMX
CumulusMX.exe
And see if a coredump.CMX file is created, the contents of that file might give us a clue.

Re: MX V4

You have to run the second instance on a different port.

The default port is 8998, so run your v4 instance using the commands line parameter: -port 8999
You then connect to v4 using http://IP:8999

Re: CMXv4 .NET8 Windows 10

Don't make me out to be a total noob when it comes to computers. Just because I'm not a computer scientist or programmer doesn't mean I can't double-click on mouse. I have been dealing with computers and the Internet for over 20 years, so please, no childish advice. The screen shots look like you d...

Re: CMXv4 .NET8 Windows 10

Are you double-clicking the .exe's to run them?
Please open a command prompt, change the path to C:\CumulusMXv4, then type CumulusMX.exe
Any different?

I looked for a solution on the Internet, but it's a bit too complicated for me. Have I said goodbye to CMXv4?
Don't despair, this is exactly the sort of thing we expect the beta to show up, it's what betas are for. Now we must find the cause and solution...

Re: CMX v4 Extra web files

Thanks Paul, me too, I have lots set up for testing various things, and it was a pain to have to remove paths and add them back in. So, a selfish motivation, but one I think is useful.

Re: CumulusMX as a service

Setting up the Service is done by running “CumulusMX.exe -install”

You can then use the Services interface to start/stop the service, or change the user it runs under etc.

Re: Missing data for 2 hours

The advantage of running as a service is that Cumulus will start and stop with your computer, there is no need to login and start it manually.

The disadvantage is that the console output is no longer visible, but you can still view that information via the console log file in the MXdiags folder.
