Re: EcoWitt Weather station
I have a vague recollection of this or something similar being reported before for these Misol stations.

Re: EcoWitt Weather station
Yep, the response is badly formed. The 4th byte gives the length (0x15 = 21) which is correct, 21 bytes have been received But the 5th byte should be the start of the data, instead it is value 11 which is not a ascii character. The data actually starts in the 6th byte, and reads "EasyWeatherV1....

Re: Using SFTP
Another test, on my SSH server I switched off the plain old D-H key exchange methods, just leaving the EC methods. Cumulus then reports a error - "Failed to negotiate key exchange algorithm." which is a bit more friendly than just chopping the connection. So maybe there is some other issue...

Re: Cumulus MX Announcements and Download - PLEASE READ FIRST
Release v3.17.0 is available for download. The main change in this release is the addition of a PWS Simulator station type. This allows potential users to try out Cumulus MX without disrupting any current software. Or you can use it to set-up a test instance to trial/develop changes you want to make...

Re: Using SFTP
SFTP may well work with a newer version, the issue is the newer versions do not work properly under Mono, so SFTP becomes a Windows only option.richard_newberry wrote: ↑Sun 22 May 2022 6:06 pm Why i said does it need a newer rencissh.dll file for it to work?
Passive/Active mode is a FTP(S) thing, nothing to do with SFTP.

Re: wrong clock after first start up
Another solution is to add a hardware RTC, then the clock will always be correct at boot time before the network comes up, I do that with all my "important" rPis, it's not very expensive. Otherwise the rPi restarts with the time that it stopped.

Re: Using SFTP
So in summary, I think... FTPS now works in Active mode? (used to work passive but not after a firewall change) SFTP still fails. I've had a look at the SFTP, and I *think* the issue is to do with the key exchange protocol... The old version of SSH.Net I am having to use does not implement the newer...

Re: Solar/UV Info
It's the same for all stations, the sunshine is deemed to be when the solar value exceeds both the threshold value and the percentage of theoretical value.

Re: 9am rain reset with midnight temp reset
tbh I had a dose of "this may be harder than it looks". All that has been mentioned so far is shifting the minimum temperature and rainfall total to the following day. But if the minimum temperature for the previous 24 hrs belongs to the current day, what about the values derived from it l...

Re: Solar/UV Info
But in winter a sunny day would be much less hours wouldn't it? Personally I'd define it as a percentage of the possible sunshine hours in a day that are sunny.

Re: Solar/UV Info
I'd use hours of sunshine, but it depends how you are defining a "sunny day"?

Re: WH1080 not communicating with CumulusMX on Linux Mint
My code just calls a library to do the HID handling. It just passes in the VID/PID of the FO station (VID = 0x1941, PID = 0x8021) and gets an object back I can use to open a Stream to read/write to the device.
