Re: Activating/Deactivating AirLink

By design at the moment, enabling/disabling on the fly would require quite a bit more work as MX instantiates the station objects at startup, and there are interactions between the AirLink and the WLL station type.

Re: Mmmmm interesting

1. No, that option does not exist in MX
2. OK - but that is not the normal way wind speed is presented. A 10 minute (and or 2 minute) average is "standard".
3. That will be a bug in MX for wind spike removal! Fixed for the next release.

Re: Mmmmm interesting

Spike removal checks subsequent values, and if the new value changes by more than the spike value from the previous value it is ignored. By default MX uses a 10 minute max gust window, so a gust value will "hold" for ten minutes unless it is exceeded, then that value will hold for ten minutes etc. T...

Re: Meteobridge / CumulusMX

I don't understand when you say you have to put in a username and password when connecting to port 22222 with WD. There should not be any authentication required. Indeed there is no protocol for it defined afaik.

Re: Mmmmm interesting

Trev, do you have Spike Removal settings enabled, they may be useful for you?

Re: Using a backup creates double entries in dayfile

The switch to a new lib did not fix the issue, but I'm going with the new lib (ServiceStack.Text) anyway because it offers a number of advantages when dealing with the Davis WLL and AirLink data. This class is where the problem lies: https://github.com/mcrossley/CumulusMX/blob/v3.9.1/CumulusMX/Davis...

Re: Using a backup creates double entries in dayfile

I *think* it was the JSON parser causing it, but it only seems to occur under Mono, so the root issue is probably in there. That also makes diagnosis much harder for me as my dev environment is under Windows.

I've switched to a new parser package and so far it looks better....

Re: Using a backup creates double entries in dayfile

Soon I hope, I'm testing memory leak fixes, and that takes time as I need to let MX run for a day or so each time.

Re: NOAA reports not found in CMX

The type of quotes doesn't matter. But by default MX will use single quotes.

Re: NOAA reports not found in CMX

"mm" was the default on Cumulus 1, with Cumulus MX moving to .Net the default format string for numeric month becomes "MM", and mm is for minutes. MX does check for the old format string and automatically update it if required, but I just checked and it is looking for - 'NOAAMO'mmyy'.txt' - note the...

Re: Davis AirLink Professional Air Quality Sensor (7210UK)

Some routers already allocate port 80 to their management interface?
Or you already have forward to something else for port 80?

Re: Customising the local dashboard

Oh you're asking a non-expert in HTML/CSS now, I leave that detail to the experts! But override the default CSS on the fly, and store the preference in a cookie - sounds doable?

Re: Meteobridge / CumulusMX

Yes, the Meteobridge is refusing the connection for some reason. If nobody here has any ideas I'd ask for help on the cause of this over on the Meteobridge forum

Re: Customising the local dashboard

Nice work John, I'd like to see this completed, and adopted as the standard in the distro if that is OK.
Then you can work on drag'n'drop of the tiles ;)
