Re: Strange outside temp readings

Well excellent service from Radio World. Their Watson 8681-HHT Pass 14 replacement sender using arrived via 1st class recorded delivery this morning. Installed the batteries and re-booted the base station... held my breath :) After a second or two the outside temperature and humidity was displayed o...

Re: Cumulus 1.9.4 protocol

Thanks Mark,

I tried a search, but the results were more to do with the protocol between the TX and RX units rather than to the PC..

Sounds like the Davies serial data would be a better bet.

Cumulus 1.9.4 protocol

I'm looking at developing my own weather station using the sensors that came with an old Maplin station and some digital one wire sensors for temperature etc. The idea is to have all the sensors hardwired into a box containing a PIC micro, with the data being written to an eprom, which would then be...

Re: Strange outside temp readings

Well here's a small update.... After my last post the readings soon crept up again, so I pulled the batteries and basically gave up trying to resolve it. I tried again back in the summer, with fresh batteries etc and the problem was still present, and Maplin were out of stock of the replacement tran...

Re: Website gauges not working

The remote path needs to be correct for your FTP server regardless of whether you are using MX, Cumulus 1, or any other software which does automated uploads. Steve, I understand that, and following Paul's advice it is now working. What misled me, and I'm not casting blame, was that Kurt had the fo...

Re: Website gauges not working

Paul, to be honest, it's working so I ain't going to touch anything :D The one thing I like about MX is that you don't need to have any application running like Cumulus 1, just that DOS box, which means that I can set up a small netbook, hook that up to the base station and have it running 24/7 if I...

Re: Website gauges not working

Thanks for the explanation David. I must confess, I never updated my version of Cumulus 1 beyond 1.9.4 and simply used the original web pages and gauges. I wasn't aware that Steve had adapted it to use the new format of gauges. Looking at the gauges.js file (which hasn't been edited in any way) the ...

Re: Website gauges not working

OK, just in case I had screwed something up I unzipped the 3041 build to a new folder and copied across both the WEB and WEBFILES folders to the existing MX directory and restarted MX. Opened up the local WEB folder and found the realtimegaugesT.txttmp file. Opened it with notepad and found it had t...

Re: Website gauges not working

Morning Kurt, I'm not 100% sure I have this correct, but I used the image in your post as a template. This is how I have my settings http://micro-heli.co.uk/settings.png The MX zip file was simply extracted to the desktop, and I am the administrator so there are no issues with privileges. However, t...

Re: Website gauges not working

Kurt, thanks for the info... I'll give it a shot tomorrow as I was just about to power down the PC and retire for the night. I'll let you know how it goes

Re: Website gauges not working

Thanks Paul,

I had corrected the entry in the "extra files" under settings, but still get the same error.

If I get time tomorrow, I'll do a clean re-install of MX and remove the V1 files from my website before copying over the new MX version. Thanks for your help though

Re: Website gauges not working

Thanks for the replies guys, and I admire the detective work ;) I've searched my PC for any file with "realtimegauges" in the body and only have the realtimegaugesT.txt file on my system, which was the one I uploaded. I opened up the zip file for build 3041 and checked to see if it was part of the b...

Re: Website gauges not working

Hi, Originally no, but have added that as suggested and still no joy. I've also confirmed that the same file has been uploaded to the remote website via FTP. I can't get them to work regardless of using MX or Cumulus 1. http://localhost:8998/gauges.html displays the gauges correctly, it's just the w...

Website gauges not working

I'm still getting to grips with MX and get en error on my website when the gauges have been selected. http://micro-heli.co.uk/gauge.png One the page is loaded the gauges show -20 to +40, but when the option to select one of the choices on the radio buttons the temperature gauges display -10000 to 99...
