Re: Photos of the insides of Fine Offset sensors.

Just an update to my base station issue. I received a PM from a fellow member offering to sell me a spare base station he had that was surplus to his requirements. The deal was struck and I received it a few days later. Sadly it didn't want to pair with the transmitter unit, even though it was the s...

Don't know, it's just been a day or so since I listed it.

Both are keenly priced... Hopefully someone out there needs replacements

Re: Photos of the insides of Fine Offset sensors.

Well I'm still in the market for a base station with the LCD screen as the company didn't get back to me, The model I'm after is the N96GY. Drop me a PM with your asking price, incl post and packing to the UK and I'll weigh up my options Sadly, I still have all the rain & wind sensors from the secon...

Re: Maplin N96GY base station now faulty - Suggestions Please

Thanks for the reply, and it does indeed sound like the same symptoms I experienced with the unit that is now residing at the local recycling centre. I've sourced a replacement base unit, for £69 inc postage (which was what I paid for the complete kit from Maplins), but I currently have more pressin...

Re: Photos of the insides of Fine Offset sensors.

I have posed the question to the supplier to confirm that the two units will communicate with each other, but have not received a reply.... Yeah, I have a basic interest in PICs... but haven't really used them in anger for some years as PicBASIC Pro was very slow to keep up with things... I was push...

Re: Photos of the insides of Fine Offset sensors.

Hi Alan, thanks for the reply, I did think that the project wasn't as open sourced as it first appeared, especially when kits and ready made boards were on offer. Basically I was looking for any alternative to buying a replacement base station, seeing the cost of which is more than the total cost of...

Re: Photos of the insides of Fine Offset sensors.

Thanks for the link David. Seems I visited that site in 2017 as I had an open account - but had never posted... still having issues accessing the code, which hopefully they will sort out. Not sure I would opt for a built unit, it's more expensive than a replacement Wattson base station... and I only...

Re: Photos of the insides of Fine Offset sensors.

Apologies for resurrecting an old (anchant ?) thread, but I've been scouring the forums and google to try and find some answers, but to no real avail. My second Maplin base station failed the other day....but the transmitter and remote sensors are fine. However now that I am more conversant with Ard...

Maplin N96GY base station now faulty - Suggestions Please

I think it was around 2009 when I first purchased a weather station form Maplins. It lasted around three / four years before the first transmitter packed up and I was advised that I would need to replace both the base station and transmitter as they were paired devices and replacement transmitter un...

Re: Strange outside temp readings

Well excellent service from Radio World. Their Watson 8681-HHT Pass 14 replacement sender using arrived via 1st class recorded delivery this morning. Installed the batteries and re-booted the base station... held my breath :) After a second or two the outside temperature and humidity was displayed o...
