It seems that I have managed to solve the problem by renaming today.ini, yesterday.ini, month.ini, year.ini and alltime.ini and letting it rebuild them on restart.

I doubt that many of us have an unobstructed area around our instrumentation to get any kind of stable airflow. I know mine is extremely compromised by the terrain and the foliage in our area. I have a WS-2315 that was connected to a serial port on a laptop until the laptop died. Its now connected via a Belkin usb to serial adapter on a new PC that has no serial port. I've had no issues apart from the known spurious readings that lacrosse stations are known to discover.
