Vue rainfall in windy conditions
I have noticed that in very windy conditions my rainfall more or less fails to be recorded! Presumably the rain is passing more or less horizontally over the top of the gauge. At the moment Storm Katie seems to be at its highest, it is lashing it down with rain & the rainfall has been at 5.8 mm ...

Re: Pole diameter for Davis Vantage Vue
Nothing is ever straightforward is it? It arrived this afternoon. Set it up in the house to make sure everything works & it seems fine except that the indoor & outdoor temp. & humidity settings do not agree although the two units are sitting only a foot apart on my desk - this is after a...

Re: Pole diameter for Davis Vantage Vue
Many thanks - have got a pole so that is no problem.
Steve - yes - have ordered a Data Logger from Belfryboy.
What do Vantage Vue owners consider a good height compromise?
Cheers,
Chris

Pole diameter for Davis Vantage Vue
Could anyone tell me the diameter of a pole needed to fit into a Davis Vantage Vue please. Finally got fed up with failures of the cheaper weather stations. Should arrive in the next few days. Read a lot on the forum about setting the height. Would I be right that the general thinking is to fit it a...

Anemometer speed
Just as a matter of interest, is there a maximum speed that the Fine Offset anemometer can spin? Mine never seems to get over the mid 50 mph region. This could be because the winds have not gone above that speed but can't be sure. What is the highest speed that other users have reached?

It used to be on earlier versions but I can't find it on this. Guess I had better do an upgrade.

Re: Automatic data upload to UK Met Office WOW
Hi, I have set up my station information & submitted it to the WOW site. I now need to direct Cumulus to upload the information to WOW. I have used the search info. in Cumulus & see that I have to add my pin & site number to the WOW section in Configuration. The problem is that I can't f...

BT closing free web hosting service!
Hi All, Having changed my ISP from Talk Talk to BT as I had heard good things about it - including free web hosting, I now find that they are shutting down this service "because not as many people are setting up & using their own web sites". I am really p....d off about this & have...
