Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.

Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024

(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)

Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024

Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

Thrifty

Hans, Due to constant WindRose failure on the Pi, I ran it on my PC. It ran very quickly and flawlessly, I've copied the output file for wind graphs and it's fine. I obviously have a Pi resource issue. If I subsequently run the Thrifty command, I think I understand that it should solve the issue as ...

Re: Shared UserReports

Andy,

Thanks for that.

I have data issues, I hope I'm on the home run now, if not, I'll be asking for help on here! The main problem is that it's a lot more interesting customising the interface than examining month files...... :D

Re: Shared UserReports

Andy, As a bit of light relief ;) from trying to get a functioning WindRose, I’m happily changing colours everywhere and looking at your UserReports! Are you happy with me downloading and attempting to use them please? I may eventually be able to write my own but this is a nice lazy way out for now....

Re: Dayfile Gust High Wind Format

Yes, problem was I think when I set all this up that I just used the example in the wiki to set my units without computing that the description shows interger :groan: ! However, CreateMissing happily seems to correct all the decimal point data to interger to so it’s a simple copy and paste. Such a u...

Re: Dayfile Gust High Wind Format

Thank you very much. I’d rather get it right before I correct thousands of records!

Dayfile Gust High Wind Format

I am trying to correct my dayfile.txt data, please can the format of the first value after the time be confirmed? Old data shows values to one decimal point eg 6.7. New values show an integer eg 7, and CreateMissing also gives a whole number here. The Wiki shows a decimal point in the example value....

Re: Beginner errors

Hans, Just to let you know, I now have a working site including NOAA reports and a moon picture :D . still no WindRose but that’s because of lots of bad data. The YADR is proving very useful for identifying a lot of this, as are the utils logs. I’m very pleased, it’s just what I wanted and very easy...

Re: Month Data Log - mixed times

Thanks Mark, that’s brilliant!

Was using a package that didn’t like that approach. That’ll make a huge difference to me getting my log files in order, together with the Create Missing Utility.

Month Data Log - mixed times

Please does anyone know what effect ‘mixed’ times would have in the month data logs? I have large gaps in places in my files for various reasons. For my earlier records I used the file importer into Cumulus from .wlk Davis files, logged at 5 minute intervals. I now have times when, since using Ecowi...

Re: Beginner errors

Hans,

Absolutely brilliant!!! Thanks for that.

Makes it very clear and easy to follow and shows what needs to be placed where, and what is updated. If you lack understanding, to start with a step by step ‘do this, in this order’ quick start guide makes a huge difference!

Re: Beginner errors

Sorry if I sounded irritated, believe me, I’m not, it isn’t your fault if I’m not up to speed :D . Sometimes I find the wikis hard to follow at the beginning when you’ve no idea at all what you’re doing!! I found the same with Cumulus itself. I tried it years ago and couldn’t understand how it worke...

Re: Beginner errors

ee attachment!!!!! The header is there, it just doesn’t all fit on my iPad screen :D :D :D NOAA reports aren’t working, but who cares, the rest is. Now the embarrassing bit, my lib and css folders remained stubbornly empty and I couldn’t fathom out how to populate them. Luckily there is another post...

Re: Beginner errors

Hans, Thanks for looking. This could well be my problem then as I’m not using any FTP………!! I’m well into totally uncharted territory. I’ll have another look tomorrow, my poor aged brain can’t cope with too much in one go  I’ve also been trying to correct the data from my broken WS80 since the n...

Re: Any bright ideas?

I’m afraid I don’t have any bright ideas at all!! It’s a long, painful hard slog. You could make sure you have the data spike alarm set on CumulusMX and data parameters set. This has saved my bacon quite a bit recently. I would love it if someone else chips in with something worth trying. I have alm...
