Re: Charts default data visibility setting (solved)
You can change the plot colours in: Display Settings > Graphs Another very handy upgrade! I was astonished when I decided to upgrade CMX that my system had been continuously running for about 18 months since the last reboot. I run CMX on a headless Raspberry Pi and manage it via VNC. It's wonderful...

Hi Dave, If you don't have any success with Freddie's suggestion then this topic might help. https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=20907 Regards, Trevor Thank you. Great information in the topic you linked. Between that and the settings page I can customize the charts very quickly to get ex...

Re: Charts default data visibility setting
Have a look through the settings pages of your installation - data visibility can be toggled via settings now. Thank you. This is very helpful and nice addition to the update. There's a lot to get familiar with coming from a much older release. I suppose my infrequent updates are a testament to how...

Charts default data visibility setting (solved)
I recently updated CMX from a very old build (b3055) to the latest release. With the older version of the charts.js file, I was able to set the default visibility of the various data in a multi-data chart by editing the JS file. For example by default, indoor temperature was off, but could be toggle...

MX with Weatherlink Live
I noticed that WLL is now supported in MX. I know Davis finally published an API to access current conditions, but the last I remember hearing was the debate about access to archive data. Things like, is there local archive memory, is a pro subscription needed to download archive data, etc. So, can ...

Re: Raspberry Pi: Long term reliability
Thank you all for sharing your experiences with the Pi. I'll keep you all updated as I proceed with my own experience using one. I'm eager to ditch the old laptop I'm using for MX duties now.

Raspberry Pi: Long term reliability
I recently bought a Raspberry Pi and have started tinkering with it in a headless setup, remoting in via ssh or VNC with my Mac. I'll be trying my hand at getting MX up and running on it next, at first with a spare Envoy, but my goal would be to transition to the Pi as my main system. If those of yo...

Re: Possible future Cumulus direction
I didn't want to quote your original response to this thread to save space, but what you described sounds like a great plan Steve. I've actually been playing around coding a custom GUI with Python and Pygame lately that I want to use for a large LCD display in our office and had not even begun to co...

Re: what if there was a faster update than 'real-time'
Strictly speaking, you can get LOOPs faster than this. They seem to be available about every 2 secs or even more often, though it does depend on what else the console CPU is being asked to do and so 2 secs is a reasonable average figure. And the time to get a single LOOP via the DLL (at least for a...

Re: what if there was a faster update than 'real-time'
Only really relevant for Davis stations, but say you could get the wind speed and direction out of Cumulus as it is read from the station, so a 2.5 second update rate. What would be the best way of doing it? Write to a file and monitor for file changed? Write it to a network socket? COM? (A bit Win...

Re: Serial or USB
I haven't posted on this forum in a long time. I need to replace my aging VP equipment and was pondering the serial vs usb question myself. Amazing that this post was at the top of the list when I logged in to do some research on the topic. I remember when the usb data logger was first released ther...

get their files redirected to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Cumulus (for example). ....... and there they are! :) Thanks Steve! I spent the better part of an hour last night trying to figure that out and got frustrated. :bash: As the old saying goes I decided to sleep...
