Re: Max value for #MinutesSinceLastRainTip

I have a standard CMX install feed by a Davis VP2 which has logged in several rain events recently. I shut down CMX during a Windows updates and it is at that time the #MinutesSinceLastTip goes to '---', as I showed in an earlier posting, the websitedata file portion relating to rain from my CMX. I ...

Re: Max value for #MinutesSinceLastRainTip

yes, "#MinutesSinceLastRain" tag reports 3 dashes ("---) from time that CMX is started (or restarted) until first rainfall. then it works as described. The 3-dahses causes Sager calculation to believe there has been rain and so causes Sager it to post forecasts that have some form of ...

Re: Max value for #MinutesSinceLastRainTip

Sager forecast uses the MSLT webtag… Below are the last lines of <br-sager-cu.PHP> file; which is the fetch file to retrieves CMX info and is FTP’ed (using 3rd party web file setting) to the sever same time as CMX’s update schedule. // Minutes since Cumulus last reported Rain: $rm = <#MinutesSinceLa...

Re: Max value for #MinutesSinceLastRainTip

Hi Mapantz, I have had several recent rain events this year (fortunately, to help relieve our drought in California) and have restarted CMX 2-3 times (no problems, just restarting while implementing some new features). Why then do I have dashes instead of minutes (see attached) for the MinutesSinceL...

Re: Max value for #MinutesSinceLastRainTip

I speculate now that the dashes are generated not from time of CMX installation but from time CMX is started (or restarted). Generally not a big deal however in the case of the Sager code, the dashes cause the code to erroneously report some version of rain/snow precipitation in its generated foreca...

Max value for #MinutesSinceLastRainTip

What is the max numeric value of #MinutesSinceLastRainTip ?

Sager forecasting returning a text value of “___” (3 dashes) which causes issues of Sager always predicting rain.
I’ve coded a workaround but am curious about the max value.

Thank you Mapantz,

Thank you for your comment.

Very much agree. Looking at Beteljuice’s contributions over the years…very much missed!

Re: BT's Sager PHP Script V2 - For Cumulus

Hi Mapantz, I had disabled the SAGER operation earlier today. For you have reconnected back. All back in place. You will see the SAGER forecast on the INDEX page at the top and the right-side column as well as watch it scroll in the LCD display on the GAUGES page. TODAY was a blue, clear, no clouds ...

Re: BT's Sager PHP Script V2 - For Cumulus

per my previous post.. this code in bt-sager-wc.php: " // Returns the first Precipitation Code match found only or defaults to "No Precipitation": if (count ($precip) > 0) { $m2 = $precip[0]; } else $m2 = "No Precipitation"; " 'So out of the above $precip' is indicating...

Re: BT's Sager PHP Script V2 - For Cumulus

let me add...a bit disappointed at the start here as the Sager forecast says rain (or some version of rain) and we have had cloudless days now and the next few days at least. Sager is using our elevation adjusted barometer (https://climate.tommueller.com/bt-sager.php) and local METAR reports clear s...

Re: BT's Sager PHP Script V2 - For Cumulus

Thanks Simon,
i noticed that as well however I must never had it as when I put it on the server the size & spacing of characters become a bit whacked out. Without it everything is fine.

Re: BT's Sager PHP Script V2 - For Cumulus

Simon,

You were right. The bt-sager.welcome.PHP was missing some quote marks in the last line.
The Sager forecast did work then stopped and this was the cause. Interesting as I had not made any mods to this line. But ‘se la vie’ all good again.

Thanks again!

Re: BT's Sager PHP Script V2 - For Cumulus

Not sure if this anything to do specially with SAGER files.. SAGER files were running OK but now fail at point where a file (PHP) 'require' <filename> command is included. Suspected by running by-sager.php direct and confirmed using the curltest.php.(although this test file says 'cURL is present' it...

Using METAR value for cloudbase value

I checked previous first and did not find anything relating to this question. The CMX cloudbase value is often far off. We have many cloudless days while CMX shows low cloudvalues. I wish to use the local (KOXR) METAR cloud values for my cloudbase value in CMX. Anyone aware if this has been done? Br...

Re: BT's Sager PHP Script V2 - For Cumulus

Thanks Mark, All done. All good and running well. Segar forecast now showing in LCD display. It was a great weekend adventure. Setup of cURL (which is included on Windows 10) was a bit painful. Following examples (on-line) of commands didn’t work. Finally striped the command line sequence to its bas...
