outside temp and wind correlation
Yesterday I took off my WS1080 wind sensor home to fix direction problems (replaced 3 reed switches, they were clicking, but not making contact). Anyway, I put it back today, and rushed to check my graphs. Wind was fine, but I noticed, that temperature graph was a lot more 'spiky' with wind sensor c...

Re: still getting huge rain spikes
Note that there still isn't a configurable filter for rain total . What the code does (from 1.9.1 on) is to look for increases of more than 30 tips between readings (I'm making this configurable via cumulus.ini in the next build), and doesn't accept them until it has had the same value for six cons...

Re: still getting huge rain spikes
Concerning the question what to do with error values: just ignore it at all. IMHO it's better to miss a few milimeters of rain here and there, rather than having 10 times tropical rain in Europe. But how could Cumulus determine what was a relevant jump (due to a downpour) and what was erroneous wit...

Re: still getting huge rain spikes
Yes, I understand the difference in rain measurement. My total rain counter stayed the same after next successful reading: 19.06.11;03:40;15,7;99;15,5;1,4;2,7;225;0,0;0,0;1003,7; 1453,8 ;24,6;46;2,4;15,7;15,7;0,0;0;0,00;0,00;16,5;0;0,0 19.06.11;03:50;15,6;99;15,4;1,4;2,4;258;29491,0;2457,6;1003,6; ...

still getting huge rain spikes
Hi. I've just finished yesterday upgrading to v1.9.1 (989) from 1.8.8, and fixing two months of various spikes (temp, wind, rain etc.). Thank you very much for the new record editing tool, it's awesome! I've been having spikes quite rarely (2-3 times a year, usually with rain). But recently I had to...

Re: rain reset gone bad
I'm sure I've read a number of times on the forum about resetting the rain counter; I think it's held in NVRAM and takes a bit of getting rid of. It's held in the transmitter, by the way, not the station. You did reset the tranmitter? No, I didn't, as it is not very easy to reach. All manuals state...

Re: rain reset gone bad
Any idea why the station after all resets still holds 699? Presumably because you haven't actually reset that value. I don't know how you do reset it, but I'm sure it must be possible. Won't this difference mess up any statistics? Not in Cumulus, provided you edit the files to compensate for the su...

Re: rain reset gone bad
Would be nice if you could reset or change these values from the edit records page. I second to that. I mean for tech geeks it's not so difficult to correct rain, but everyone else definitely needs at least a clear guide on this. Consider the facts that: 1. This measurement is the only which can be...

rain reset gone bad
I'm struggling with this for two days already. Recently I decided to clean up my rain data, to remove bad data generated by my CB antenna. I edited current and last month's logs with excel. The total rain counter has decreased, so I fixed it in today.ini and fired up Cumulus. Bam, I got all time hig...
