Re: Wind Run?

Robert, I have no idea what to do with it except look at it If you ever look up total rainfall to see which month or year was the wettest, then wind run is the equivalent total to see which month or year was the most windy. Looking at the strongest gust in a month or year, only conveys information ...

Re: Wind Run? Solved (I guess)

Thanks Matt, didn't see your post until I found the following. Finally found it by Googling "what is wind run" and came up with this from Cumulus Wiki (not from the wiki at the top of the Cumulus page): Windrun A measurement of how much wind has passed a given point in a period of time. A ...

Wind Run?

What the heck is wind run? I checked Wikipedia, Cumulus Wiki, Cumulus Help files and find nothing that defines Wind Run (except Wikipedia which wasn't much help).

Can/will someone explain what it means in simple English using (mostly) words of one syllable :groan: ?

Re: Loss of wind and direction data: Solved

Yeah  it's back up and running. Got some Lithium AA batteries and when I started changing them found that the temp/humidity takes AAA batteries so have to go back to get them. Still the station is registering on the software just fine.

Re: Loss of wind and direction data

Some batteries do not cope well with low temperatures, an intermittient problem I have been having with some of my kit on recent cold nights. Going to get the lithium batteries today and replace all in the sensors. Have to bring the whole shebang into the house, it's too damned cold outside to chan...

Re: Loss of wind and direction data

Sorry for the delay Guy. Actually I did that along with going outside to the wind unit, unscrewed it and pressed the reset button. Still nothing so either the sending unit has given up, the base unit has an internal problem or another possibility is the batteries in the outdoor sensors. I looked thr...

Loss of wind and direction data

WMR200 wind speed and direction are not displaying on either the base station or Cumulus. I realize, of course, that if something doesn't display on the base station if won't in Cumulus. :groan: First I reset the base station, nothing happened, they I went out to the station, removed the wind dodad ...

Re: Weather stickers, where to find

Thanks Ray.
I'll look into that again and see what I can do. I'd really like to have a decent sticker.

Cheers and have a happy new year. :D

Re: Weather stickers, where to find

This is a common banner script https://www.tnetweather.com/projects/phpggbanner

Enjoy,
Paul
Found them but am unable to make one for New Fairfield, CT. There doesn't seem to be any way to change the town/area from what the sticker looks like.

Weather stickers, where to find

I notice there are weather stickers on many peoples signatures. I'd like one also but in all my searching I couldn't find any that would automatically up date various parameters. Where can I get ones like those I see on so many UK members but for me? I'm in the USA. As you can see the one in my sign...

Re: Which software for first time user?

Solution found. Found the cable I need in another box of worms, actually three of them.

Now I will have to move the base station to the bedroom and find a place to put it. Also have to decide whether to use the table top PC or dedicate one to the unused lap tops so it can run 24/7.

Which software for first time user?

I've had an Oregon Scientific Professional WMR200 Weather Center for some years now but have never contemplated getting software for my PC (HP Touchsmart) using Windows 10 V 10.1.16299 Build 16299) until now. Unfortunately there is a small situation; I don't have the USB cable to connect the PC to t...
