Re: Cumulus Wiki moving to new hosting - 11-Jan-2020 9-12noon Pacific time

Thanks folks! The move went fairly smoothly. I needed to handle wxforum.net first (and more complicated). After the DNS changes propagated, cumuluswiki.wxforum.net came online from the snapshot I took yesterday, and all seems functional. Let me know in this thread if you encounter any issues. Note: ...

Cumulus Wiki moving to new hosting - 11-Jan-2020 9-12noon Pacific time

I've configured up a new VPS (2 CPU, 2GB RAM, 60 GB SSD disk, ‪CentOS Linux 7.7.1908, PHP 7.4, Plesk Obsidian 18.0.21, Apache/NGNIX) as a base for WXForum.net and the cumuluswiki. I've pre-ported the software and configurations/databases to the new host. The downtime will be used to catch up the dat...

    Re: Advisory text misaligned

I found several issues with formatting in the advisory.php.

I've updated advisory.php and css/main.dark.css on the GitHub distribution.

    Re: Advisory text misaligned

I'm not sure this will fix the issue, but there is one difference in css/main.dark.css you can change. You currently have .orangealerticonheatindex { margin-top: -55px; margin-left: 140px; padding: 4px; line-height: 20px; position: relative } while the current prod release has .orangealerticonheatin...

    Re: Advisory text misaligned

Sorry I missed this posting earlier....

It would really help to have the URL to the CU-HWS site that shows the problem in order to debug. Screen captures do show a problem, but the actual site has to be viewed to do debugging.

    Re: Dark Sky Forecast

I think it's an API tweak on their end. Since they only return a forecast for a full-day (no day/night periods), they may have decided that the 'partly-cloudy-day' icon was also to be used in the conditions area even when it's nightime. I do note you're running an older version (V1.05) and there hav...

    Re: Meteor showers/no meteor showers

You're correct. The index.php was missing a method to determine which meteor shower was present. I added code from mooninfo to index.php and now it shows the Leonids correctly.

    Just index.php was changed.

    Re: PHP question

That is a bit of odd code.. Some things to keep in mind: 1) string literals inside single-quoted strings aren't evaluated by PHP. Only string literals within double quoted strings are evaluated. 2) there's a much simpler way to ensure your $previousDay variable inside PHP is set with the date of yes...

I tried the above fix on my local copy, and it did eliminate those Notice: errata for mooninfo.php -- I pushed the changes to the GitHub master distribution.

Re: PHP errors with php 7.3.7 - the next step

Your description about which 'template' is a bit sketchy. Since the error message included the CU-HWS-master in the path, I'm guessing that it's my distribution of Brian Underdown's PWS template from https://github.com/ktrue/CU-HWS .. if that's correct, and the mooninfo.php referred to in the error ...

Re: PHP errors with php 7.3.7

Yes, the use of strip_units() calls are all over the place, but the usage in if ( (strip_units($avgspd) + strip_units($gstspd) < 0.1 ) and ($wrCalm <> '') ) { // use calm instead is the only instance where the return values of the function are used in an arithmetic statement, so their values should ...

Please attach a .zip of your current ajax-dashboard.php and I'll take a look.

Glad the other 3 issues were resolved.
