Re: Update from Cumulus 1 issues

This is WAY to basic to be completely error free, but it's a start point. Will have a better tinker with it in my spare time if you think it has merit. The attached EXE throws Freddie the new user straight into the interface; where they get to click about in pretty stuff! Immediate reward! (Sorry @F...

Re: Update from Cumulus 1 issues

Tell me how I can do that on Windows, Linux, and MacOS ;) Point well taken. So dismissing Linux for starters, as it's users a generally more IT literate.... MacOS; not sure we have that out in the bush... That leaves Windows... So on a different tangent, for beginners, maybe someone could cre...

Re: Update from Cumulus 1 issues

The problem with that is some people (me included) run CumulusMX on machines that do not have a graphical interface and browser, or even a screen/keyboard! It's the Download/Run novices that I'm thinking about. They just expect an application to be "Clickable" & if it's not they walk away. . Only b...

Re: SSL (TLS) Connection to MX

If it's internet access to the interface, a VPN is the simple solution.

If it's securing the interface inside a business network, the the business's firewall rules could easily accommodate that.

Re: Davis firmware updater for VP2 needed

Updating is always a risk though, it can go wrong. Bit off Topic..... Probably why I'm still on 3.15. Upgrade Paranoia. Over the past 30 years the number of firmware upgrades I've done is easily in the 1000. Despite that it only takes a few failures to leave a bad taste in your mouth. I think from ...

Re: Simple editing of CumulusMX data

Not sure what you mean by this as the Charts dropdown is what most people use. Probably Historic Charts. On numerous occasions I've taken my Dayfile into Excel & generated charts in there. On that note, an interesting feature to add to MX would be a data export facility. Probably nothing to complex...

Dayfile Entry Missing.

Hi All, Just jumped into Beteljuice's Dayfile reader & noticed I'm missing the entry for 15/08/20. Have absolutely no idea why. I did take the station down on the 14 to replace the rain tipper & SHT31 & give it a general cleanup, but it was back on-line & running fine after. I've checked Aug20Log.tx...

Supported documents are now available from here:

https://www.davisinstruments.com/produc ... _documents
Page 7 of the user manual invites the user to unscrew the cover & see what's inside.
Obviously no warranty voided.

Re: Davis AirLink

No comms with VP2 or WLL. In a sense that's a Plus for us here in Aus, as we pay a big premium on locally supplied units with the compliant 915-928MHz frequency range. Complete station 24 Hour Fars & Solar/UV is $1850AUD. Same config from the US is $783USD. Any other add-on Wireless stuff is at an ...

Re: Davis AirLink

No mention of power supply, although photo' on tree shows DC cable entering base. The sensor it's self doesn't use much if it's the SPS30, but then there's processor Wifi etc. Com's to a VP2 console????? No mention if that actually exists. In any case my go to cheap & dirty remote power solution is...

Re: Davis AirLink Professional Air Quality Sensor (7210UK)

I'll take a punt & guess it's based on a Sensirion SPS30 . I Bought a couple last year with the intention of running them on a micro. Still haven't bot past reading it via their Evaluation software. It's protocol is well documented & the device supports Serial TTL or I2C. Looking at their documentat...

Re: MXdiags when run as server

Just a further question relating to running as a Service. Would there be no issues in having a browser permanently open on the dashboard page. If you were to do that I assume it the socket port would timeout after a period. I assume that could be edited in the appropriate script, but the few searche...

Re: MXdiags when run as server

Random thought I had a few days back about the service was outputting data to a telnet port.

Don't know the implications; it just came to mind while opening a terminal connection to another device.

Re: Interface access from the internet

To access LAN devices from a LAN device through a DDNS or similar - I think - requires bridge functionality. You may mean Port Forwarding. Basically mapping an external port to an internal IP. Simple, but not real secure. DDNS deals with the Dynamic IP issue. But if you are behind CGnat, it simply ...

Specifically in this case the /interface/json/StationXXXX files.
Thanks Mark,

100% correct.
Both the Station*.json files were stuck back in March.
