Re: Instructions: Installing CumulusMX on Raspberry Pi

Not sure why Hans asked a question instead of pointing you at the likely problem. If you've just installed from scratch in the last couple of weeks, then you will have the latest version of Raspbian (v10, Buster) and the latest version of mono (v6.0.0). We seem to have found a strange incompatibilit...

Re: Dashboard won't load after upgrade

At present I definitely would NOT update mono - the new version is giving problems. I'm wondering how you have an old version despite having Raspbian Buster - I wouldn't have expected that to be possible. But "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" very much applies at the moment. I would even suggest you...

Re: Can't Extract MX 3050 Download

Are you sorted now? You don't give us enough info really. I presume you are using a Raspberry Pi? Did you download CumuklusMX b3050 to the Pi or to a PC? Most folk download to a PC, unzip there, then use FileZilla or similar to copy it to the Pi Note from other threads that there is presntly a probl...

Re: Dashboard won't load after upgrade

Yes - Raspbian Buster and the newly-updated release of Mono (v6.0.0) are incompatible, giving errors like this. See this thread https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=17564 To check what version of mono you have, enter: mono -V If you've got v6.0.0 you have this problem. If you have v5.1...

Re: New installation on Pi3B + with Buster and Mono 6.0 does not work

it should be possible to amend these instructions to load v5.18.0.240 which DOES work with Buster Brave volunteer required to try getting mono v5.18.0.240 The source link is http://download.mono-project.com/repo/debian/dists/raspbianstretch/snapshots/5.18.0.240/ So suggest to try: echo "deb http://...

Re: New installation on Pi3B + with Buster and Mono 6.0 does not work

Instructions to load and not update an old version of mono First check that you do have v6.0.0, and if so delete it: mono -V sudo apt-get purge mono-runtime mono-complete mono-devel Then the following will load mono version 4.0.5.1 and 'hold' it preventing further updates. This version is known to ...

Re: New installation on Pi3B + with Buster and Mono 6.0 does not work

I've been working on a similar problem with another user using a Pi Zero W with Buster and Mono v6.0.0 Essentially, as noted above, the web interface pages do not load properly. We got an error page every time we tried to access a new page, but clicking 'reload' made it load successfully. Apart from...

Re: Install MonoDevelop

Just wondering if you just updated the Raspberry Pi Operating System? Raspbian has been updated from Stretch (aka Raspbian 9) to Buster (Raspbian 10), and that appears to require a new version of mono. see https://www.mono-project.com/download/s ... n-raspbian

Re: Mono 4.0.2.5 packages now available for Raspbian

2 years on and I bet you didn't expect a response. Did you ever get it working? I suggest you check: Go to the Cumulus web interface / Settings /Station Settings Make sure that station type is set to Fine Offset Make sure that Serial port is set to /dev/ttyUSB0 If that doesn't work, I suggest you di...

Re: No Air Pressue Reporting

I'm not going to know the answer, but it would help if you said whether this has stopped working (ie it used to be OK) or has never worked (new installation)

Re: Vantage Vue

I am wondering if there is any way to receive the data from the external weather station and transfer it to the laptop using Cumulus without having to buy a new console? Davis sell a box called "WeatherLink Live" which seems to do just what you ask for - connects to the sensors, sends data to any d...

Re: Instructions: Installing CumulusMX on Raspberry Pi

Paul, I feel honoured that you will follow my humble instructions, as I recognise you as a senior member of this forum who has given plenty advice over the years. I'm not in North America so cannot give specific advice on suppliers. Raspberry Pi are the same wherever you get them. If you buy a fast ...

Re: Instructions: Installing CumulusMX on Raspberry Pi

You should be OK copying all the web files, templates etc that you created. But you'll need to recreate all the settings (in Cumulus.ini, by amending the 'Settings' via web interface) to tell it which files to process, how often etc. As you can at least temporarily run using the 'old' Cumulus.ini, I...

Re: LOG ERROR

I'm using a similar setup - RPi Zero W, CumulusMX and a scheduled daily reboot at 0253 I recently changed From Stretch to Buster, and from an earlier CumulusMX build to 3050, I have no such similar problem. In these examples, the RPi rebooted between the lines shown With the old system: 07/08/19,02:...

Re: Problem Raspberry Zero W & WMR928N

On a Windows machine, Com ports are named com0, com1 etc But in linux (as used on R Pi) they are named /dev/ttyUSB0 or similar for a USB port emulating a serial port. That's why you cannot simply move Cumulus.ini from Windows to RPi As we've been discussing in another thread [https://cumulus.hosiene...
