Re: MX and mysql data indexes

[...] and it imported the whole lot in 5 seconds (as a contrast, my complicated multi-table data sets in my day job take several minutes to load). [...] I can hardly imagine Spotfire making a difference that big (5 secs to 3(?) minutes is 36 times as fast). There is fysical limit to reading a fysic...

Re: MX and mysql data indexes

@experimentor: you got me to a tool which is new to me. Interesting! But very suspicious that you do not see meteorology among their fields of solutions. I am looking forward to your results of the experiment. Well, I had to rise to my own challenge! Ignoring the warnings above, I started with 6 ye...

Re: Feature Requests

It means there is a long queue but it might happen. Mark Crossley, the moderator, is your guy who is kindly making changes and he seems to read all the posts most days. He has a list of things of his own that he wants to attend to, but if you post your suggestions here, one of them might just catch ...

Re: WMR928NX

The diags file shows something similar: most of the time data seems to be received smoothly, then there are several pauses with message "Data input appears to have stopped" before restarting after a couple of seconds. One place that I saw had a different message "WS Client Disconnected". I would sta...

Re: Cumulus MX stopping on Rpi ?

Learn to use a little SSH (via PuTTY) when you do. It's exactly the same as the BASH command line but done from the comfort of your PC (and you can Copy/Paste instead of re-typing things). My thread https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16931 goes through complete RPi setup using SSH. Y...

Re: Data Errors

A big advantage of CumulusMX is that it will run on a Raspberry Pi Zero W - my system consumes exactly 0.19A at 5.16V = 0.9804W x 61,360 hours per year = 60 kWh = £9.00/year. Compared to leaving a PC switched on 24/7, that is a huge saving in energy consumption. In fact, I think my system is detecti...

Re: Cumulus MX stopping on Rpi ?

I'm not quite sure why, but I'm worried you might have a corrupted or failing SD card.
Make a backup while you can.

Re: MX and mysql data indexes

I have at the back of my mind a bit of a plan to see if I can import the archive files into Tibco Spotfire.
That'll not be running on my Raspberry Pi of course, but I think it wouldd be a good package to do the heavy lifting without needing dedicated programming.

Any thoughts?

Re: CumulusMX and 1and1 Hosting

I can confirm that 1&1 Linux hosting uses SFTP - this site is running on one. I've never used a Windows offering.... But doesn't Freddie's post here mean that he has CumulusMX running under Linux and sending SFTP to 1&1 successfully? Either I'm misreading something or we need more details from Fred...

Re: Cumulus MX on new PC

The log file shows that Cumulus was trying to read archive data but each attempt just received "Ignoring old archive data". Then after 40 seconds you killed the run without actually having properly started receiving current readings. I'm not sure, but I think this is reading recent [18 Sep 2019] arc...

Re: My station's tweets to Twitter have stopped completely

You can certainly achieve this in CumulusMX (why not switch over to the maintained program??). I've not used Cumulus 1 for years but expect it can do the same. All you need to do is tell Cumulus to 'Process' the twitter.txt template file (or indeed any other file you want), then pick up the output (...

Re: CumulusMX - RaspberyPi - Start|Stop|Restart Script V2.5.5.3

But it is my firm belief, that no messages should be given when not required. ... Anyway, the Pi maybe connects through a v6, but I do not have anything to do with it. Besides that, I would have to find out how to block v6 addresses which - apart fom the time it takes to research - I actually do no...
