Re: Webspace Change
Thanks both. I have them set to upload to the public_html space which I think is correct? I did some experimenting yesterday and found that it seems to work ok using active FTP mode. The only issue now is that the guages sometime say offline and the NOAA files are not updating. I have the real-time ...

Webspace Change
Hi All, I have just changed my web space provider and pointed Cumulus MX on my Raspberry Pi to it. Out of the 9 standard HTML files, Index.htm and a couple of others are uploading OK but others such as today.htm are not uploading. I enabled FTP logging, and the message for the failed files say 'No s...

Re: Changing Weather Station
Thanks for the responses. I manually edited the files, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be ;) Philpugh, as you say, I will miss the solar data but hopefully I will be able to get another station soon. I want to steer clear of the Fine Offset models in case of compatibility issues though. Do you u...

Re: Changing Weather Station
Hi Steve, Try this FAQ article: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#My_station_invented_some_rain_that_didn.27t_really_occur.2C_and_I_want_to_set_it_to_zero_.28or_some_other_figure.29 Hi Freddie. Thanks for the link. I was wondering if I was missing something obvious though? As I'm using MX, I presume...

Changing Weather Station
Hi all. After so many issues and lockups using the WS3083 and Pi2, I decided to try my old WH1081 until I can purchase an alternative brand. I cleared all the data out of the WH1081 memory and used the daily backup from Cumulus MX to restore my data to remove corrupt data from the last lockup. I als...

Re: Cumulus MX 3038 and Error reading data from station
Well after doing so well, I started to get USB lookups every few days even with just WiFi connected. The last straw was when I had to reset it every day recently, so I have given up on the website for now. I have gone back to retrieving the data via a pc every so often so I can continue to keep hist...

Re: Cumulus MX 3038 and Error reading data from station
Well, I had the first lockup today since switching to Wi-Fi, but it's had a good run! Apart from one reset I had to do for a mains power loss, it has been stable since 3rd June so I am hoping the lockups will now be occasional in the future too, rather than every few days. I will keep you posted

Re: Cumulus MX 3038 and Error reading data from station
Just another quick update, 31 days now without a lockup!
It is looking more like the Ethernet interface was causing the issue?

Re: Cumulus MX 3038 and Error reading data from station
Just a quick update, may be a complete coincidence but I have disconnected the LAN cable and have been running the Pi with a Wi-Fi dongle for 18 days. During this time, I have not experienced a single lockup. I'll continue to monitor, but this is by far the longest period that the station has worked...

Re: Aecrus 3083 hardware/history fault afterCumulus data log
From what I remember the RTC is only read at boot, the OS then periodically sets the RTC to OS time so it will be correct for the next boot. Thanks Mark, I think you are right, Jessie has support for the RTC but everything I saw last night suggests it only syncs at boot and possibly shutdown. I'll ...

Re: Aecrus 3083 hardware/history fault afterCumulus data log
Thanks for the feedback Steve. I've installed the RTC now, and the station is back up and running so I'll monitor for a few days and see if the drift has improved. As I said earlier though, I've still got a lot to learn on the Pi but from what I gather, you have to check HWCLOCK for the module and D...

Re: Aecrus 3083 hardware/history fault afterCumulus data log
Steve, Thanks for the detailed response, much appreciated :-) I have a lot to learn with the Pi, and was not aware that there was no RTC. After reading up, I have ordered a module for £5.49 so it's certainly worth a try. Ed mentioned that the console seems to have worked for a while now connected to...

Re: Aecrus 3083 hardware/history fault afterCumulus data log
Hi Steve, I can confirm that I have selected the "synchronise Fine Offset reads" setting. However, I checked the logs as you suggested prior to the last lock up and if I am looking at the correct entry, it would suggest that it drifted much further out than the default 3 seconds you mentio...

Re: Aecrus 3083 hardware/history fault afterCumulus data log
Hi leforthomas. What a coincidence! I have exactly the same issue, same weather station and a Raspberry Pi 2. I purchased it from the same distributor at Christmas who to be fair, have been most helpful and have just swapped the unit. I've tried the setting that David suggested, tried different USB ...
