Re: Temperature Sensor

thanks Ray, think I probably need to resign myself to renewing equipment every 4 or 5 years. I'm only a hobbyist and dont want to change hardware supplier as the console and integration with cumulus works well. If it costs me a few hundred ££ for the pleasure then so be it. I expect there is better ...

Re: Temperature Sensor

thanks Ray

It was new in 2015 but has already had 2 new 'harnesses', one under warranty. Poor equipment resilience? I do live on a very exposed coastal location however, with strong winds and driving saline winds which probably dont help!

Re: Rain readings in exceptionally windy weather

thanks Freddie

This explains matters I'm sure with it being an integrated unit. My station is on a pole about 2m above ground which explains things but interesting info you've provided nevertheless!

Re: Vantage Vue ISS Battery Choice

the harness has the capacitor integrated within the circuitry if I remember correctly, so it was all in the one part

Rain readings in exceptionally windy weather

Sorry if this has been discussed endless times but I dont think I'm getting accurate readings when the wind is up above 25mph. I have a Vantage Vue installed here near the coast in South Wales with no interference from any buildings, so a decent location. Over the past few days I'm getting gusts aro...

Re: Vantage Vue ISS Battery Choice

I had this problem a few years ago with my Vantage Vue and it was a capacitor problem - basically it failed. Because I was within the 2 year warrantee I got a new harness which holds the capacitor and it was easy enough to fit.

Re: 1% relative humidity outside - I don't think so!

that said, it has failed again. I'm told by Prodata that I need to buy a new harness at £188. I had a new harness under warrantee 2 years ago for a separate problem but am no longer covered :( I live a mile inland from the sea in S Wales and we do get violent weather and see spray in not uncommon. I...

Re: 1% relative humidity outside - I don't think so!

had my Vue for 2 years without following the cleaning instructions so very pleased I found this thread. Outside humidity was reading 1%. Took the shield apart, and it was all gummed up with debris. Cleaned the shield and sensor and now working fine.

Temperature spike needs correction

please see the attached image anyone? Cumuls 1.9.4. I've had a few instances where I've had to go back and edit data due to equipment failure but I cannot get rid of this spike when my Davis Vantage Vue somehow recorded -60 odd C on 11/9/16 at 7.00am in the morning. The low temp in dayfile.txt is 9....

Re: Dew showing as rainfall

I'm glad I found this thread as was about to post similar. I've noticed a fairly regular 0.2mm on clear nights which is definitely dew. As it is recognised precipitation I'll just move on, cheers :)

Re: LOW BATTERY TRANSMITTER 1?

thanks it was covered by a 2 year warranty! Prodata sent me a complete harness which was easy enough to fit.

Problem solved, happy days!
