I was shocked by the price of spares for my Vue. I needed to change the vane but couldn't find a small enough Allen key, Weatherspares wanted Β£2.40 + shipping at Β£3.50 !
Got one of eBay for 99p postage included!

Re: Project Skip Find Web/weather Cam
Thanks for having a look at the manual, you obviously have more understanding than me! π Would the use of Chrome instead of Explorer make a difference? Or is it just mentioned because it was probably the only browser available at the time? I will get back to it but things are hectic here just now, m...

Re: Project Skip Find Web/weather Cam
Thank you for your quick reply. I've downloaded the manual from here..https://www.manualslib.com/manual/485334/Vivotek-Vs3100p.html#manual and to be honest it's a lot more complicated than I thought π€π Obviously there was no CD so I've downloaded some software from the Vivotek website but I seem to ...

Project Skip Find Web/weather Cam
Always liked the idea of setting up a weather camera but couldn't really justify to the Head of Finance (Mrs Turvey) going out and spending X amount of money on the equipment needed. However I have now found (skip-dived) what seems to be a working system, albeit a bit old. It comprises of 3 Swann ca...

Re: UK back to imperial system
Gets more confusing when you realise UK gallons are different in volume to US gallons!
And tyre sizes are a mixture of imperial and metric!

Re: Froggit WH6000
Took it apart today to have a good look at it and the sensor was soldered to the board so even if I found a replacement I wouldn't have been able to replace it.......if you've seen my soldering skills you'll understand! So back to the skip it goes, breaks my heart seeing 'good' stuff dumped/recycled...

Froggit WH6000
Not the usual 'will it work with Cumulus?' question you'll be pleased to know π I've rescued one of these from a skip, 2 screens 1 outdoor unit, and discovered why it was thrown out. The outside temperature/humidity doesn't register. I'm thinking that the sensor in the outdoor unit is faulty so I've...

Re: New Weather Station needed.. wifi/mqtt
Cheap?
My Vue has a couple of faults and I could probably make one good one out of the two, if it was cheap enough.

Re: Vantage Vue ISS Battery Choice
A bit of a shame because I have enjoyed my experience with the Vue and this website and Cumulus. So, why not buy another? Or a cheaper station. Or... a second hand? To be honest, it's all down to money! Can I justify spending Β£350-400 for a new Vue(can't say I've seen many second-hand ones) ? Proba...

Re: Vantage Vue ISS Battery Choice
Well it looks like the Vue is slowly loosing the will to live! Apart from the aforementioned capacitor fault, which results in a new battery draining in 48hrs, and the console having lines of text missing (obviously in the one place that isn't replicated in Cumulus) it has recently stopped recording...

Re: Vantage Vue ISS Battery Choice
Thank you for the replies. It does look increasingly like a capacitor problem right enough π The last couple of days the outdoor readings stop at around 4am and start again about 8am which tells my nonelectrical head that the capacitor is working but not very well? TwoTonTed, was it just the harness...
