Re: Cumulus dont read archive data
Davis sent me an email to update my ip logger firmware, which I did. This seems to have corrected the problem. After shutting down Cumulus for computer updating, when I restarted Cumulus, all the missing data was correctly retrieved and also sent to Weather Underground .

Re: Cumulus dont read archive data
Thanks for the reply. Diags are attached. I took a look at the files and cumulus.006 covers the failure and restart. Scenario: I was away on vacation when the Hydro decided to shut down power most of the day on November 5 to repair something. In .006 you can see at 09:57:49 there is a problem. Power...

Cumulus does not read archive data
I have a Davis Vantage Pro 2 with the IP dongle. The system works perfectly with Cumulus 1.9.4 build 1099 until there is a power failure. I have a UPS that continues to power the console and my Cumulus computer. The console has fresh backup batteries. Unfortunately and by pure bad luck, while I was ...

Re: Questions on deleting wrong data and what IP logger strores
A comment on recent experience with the IP logger. Yesterday we had a power failure in our area from about 3 pm to 12:30 am this morning. The IP logger is supposed to save the data at the set intervals (10 minutes in my case), while Cumulus was shut down and Cumulus should retrieve it on restarting....

Re: Tomorrow Daylight Prediction
Thanks for your comments and sorry if my question sounded like a complaint. It was not, just trying to learn more about the software, which is excellent. I did a quick comparison using a NOAA calculator (rounded to minutes) and the prediction seems to agree today: http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/grad/s...

Tomorrow Daylight Prediction
Is it still unreliable (as stated in the help)? How unreliable? I guess it is as I have noticed, for example today in Vancouver Canada, the prediction was for an increase of 2 min 59 secs earlier in the day and then 3 min 2 secs when I checked later in the evening, so the prediction for the same nex...

Re: Error 32701
Learning troubles. Regarding the Davis IP device comment I made two posts back - I think there is no plug/connection problem with it. What may have happened was that, due to haste, I installed on my network with dynamic IP instead of fixed. Possibly someone using a phone on WiFi left the WiFi area a...

Re: Almost a clean starting point, but not quite
Thanks Steve! Of course that was the way I did it. I changed monthlyalltime.ini, then restarted Cumulus and it just updated over my changes, which is logical. Now it is fixed.

Almost a clean starting point, but not quite
My Cumulus with Davis VP2 is working well. As it is new, it starts on January 1, 2016. Records etc. are all fine except for one thing. If I select monthly records, I can go to August, November etc. 2015 and will just get blanks as it should be, but not December. It shows some spurious numbers for De...

Questions on deleting wrong data and what IP logger strores
My Vantage Pro2 station with IP logger and Cumulus is now running well. There are a few weeks of bad data due to teething problems that I want to clear. Question 1: If I go through the log files and delete all the data before Jan 1, 2016 and then use the Edit to "Fetch log data", will it s...

Re: Error 32701
I had the same problem today with a new Davis Vantage Pro2 with Weatherlink IP. After clearing the console as it had some bad data during setup, Cumulus could not find it until I removed and replaced the IP dongle.

Re: How do I connect configure Cumulus
I am still thinking about going back on line with a weather station. I think I have decided on the Davis Vantage View, but there is an Weatherlink IP module as well as the Weatherlink USB. I understand the IP system will upload data to an Internet site, CWOP etc. My question is can the Cumulus softw...

Re: How do I connect configure Cumulus
Thanks for the tips Steve and freedom2. I am in Canada where the radio frequencies are same as US. I think the UK and Europe use different frequencies hence the ***UK version. I guess you should not use the US system in Europe. If I buy the system, I would order it within the US and go across the bo...

Re: How do I connect configure Cumulus
I ran an Oregon Scientific station for a number of years from 2007, but the equipment died. I am thinking of purchasing the following and using Cumulus to gather the data, upload to my own web site CWOP etc. Would this purchase be compatible with what I want to do? I am trying to keep costs down. 62...
