Re: Processing Data speed
Well, I am delighted to hear that my naivety has helped! I will attempt the path tomorrow. I think the main thing with instructions is to assume the user knows nothing and make the instructions as clear as possible. I have some knowledge, but am nervous about performing some tasks as I wouldn't know...

Appreciate your help.

Re: Processing Data speed
"Put a copy of your downloaded patch somewhere safe. Download the installer that Freddie linked to. Run that, then copy your patch on top of the Cumulus.exe in the install." Sadly I am not technical enough to do this so I will stay where I am and if it takes a few minutes to update each ti...

Re: Processing Data speed
They certainly don't make it easy! I have downloaded from that link and my version is showing the same as before: Version 1.9.4 version 1094.

Re: Processing Data speed
Thanks Freddie - I cannot find a direct link to the 1099 software - any idea where I might find it? I have looked around the WIki pages but can only see patches.

Re: Processing Data speed
Thank you so much for your comprehensive reply. The link to Cumulus 1 in your point 2 takes me to the Wiki page and I have clicked on the 1099.2 patch but it downloads as a zip file. I earlier downloaded Winzip but I have no idea what that is doing with the zip downloads, so I am none the wiser I am...

Re: Processing Data speed
Thanks for the advice. I have tried upgrading the software but it is not very user friendly for someone who is not good on computers, so I guess I will have to remain on this version until someone with good knowledge comes to visit me after lockdown!

Processing Data speed
There is an inconsistency in the speed of processing the data when connecting to the laptop (fairly new laptop Windows 10). For example, today it was particularly bad just having to process less than a 24 hour period taking around 4 minutes. On other days, it can fly through it. I am using Cumulus 1...

Installing Cumulus on a new computer
I will be changing my laptop soon. I have a spare laptop, which I do not usually run Cumulus on, so I thought I would go through a dummy run to see how to install the data on the new laptop when I buy it. I backup my data every month on to a removable hard drive by selecting the Cumulus file from th...

Re: Pressure disparity
Thanks Steve - so should I adjust the relative value on the weather station to that of the other local stations? In this example adjust from 989.3 to 1013?

Pressure disparity
Hi. I have an Aercus WS1093 weather station, 2 years old, and I am on Cumulus version 1.9.4 build 194. I have always had a big disparity between the pressure my weather station reports and that of say the local BBC weather pressure or indeed other local weather stations on Wunderground. The options ...

Re: Lost settings
Further to my initial post in December, I have lost the weather station settings at least 4 times since then. A screen shot I took of the settings means I can easily set the station back up, but does anyone have any idea why this keeps randomly happening? PS I am now backing up the data to a removab...

Re: Lost settings
Perhaps your cumulus.ini file is/was corrupted. If you open it in a text editor, does it have your old settings, or has Cumulus created a new one? If all of your data is present, then you don't need to restore, you just need to get your settings back into cumulus.ini, either by entering them again ...
