Re: installing Steel Gauges v 2.7.3

Hi Mark Let me explain. I have CumulusMX version 3046 installed on my Raspberrry pi and it has been working well for some time. Recently I wanted to set up the website, I did that and that is what I have now at www.laferla.ca/weather using the built-in version 2.5.5 gauges. Then I downloaded steelga...

Re: installing Steel Gauges v 2.7.3

PaulMy My CMX build is 3046. My URL is www.laferla.ca/weather. The old ss gauges work well so realtimegauges.txt is in the right place as is gauges.htm but the 2.7.3 gauges-ss.htm does not get created and I don't know why. I am going to stay with the old gauges unless somehow I find the solution. :(

Re: installing Steel Gauges v 2.7.3

David

I have looked at the wiki and cannot find anywhere it says to add another file transfer. Could you kindly be more specific and tell me which file it is. FYI, I am using CumulusMX and a lot of the wiki refers to cumulus 1. And what is the 'files tab"? Thanks in advance.

Re: installing Steel Gauges v 2.7.3

I have doublechecked everything and everything seems to work except for gauges-ss.htm not being created in cumulus /web folder. Maybe I will leave things at version 2.5.5 although I know that I followed everything in the wiki. I have gauges-ssT.htm in my cumulus web folder but it does not create a g...

Re: installing Steel Gauges v 2.7.3

Hi I am also having problems with this. I followed the wiki and readme file but for some reason the gauges-ss.htm file does not get created in my cumulus /web folder and hence there is no gauges-ss.htm file on the website. The gauges-ssT file is in my cumulus /web folder. I have copied the css and s...

Re: Website build problem

Hi Paul Yes I notice that the gauges and trends pages are not populating. I have checked that the necessary files are indeed on the website and when I open trends.htm and gauges.htm manually all I get is the template stuff with no values filled in. I am going to do some more checks but I likely will...

Re: Website build problem

Hi Paul Well all is working well now. I would like to offer my deepest gratitude to you and others on the forum who offered tips to get me going. Too often, it takes a group effort to conclude something. I have learned a great deal during these few days. A little cleanup for the webpages now and I w...

Re: Website build problem

HI Paul

Good progress. I discovered that the directory was indeed wrong. After checking with my mail server guy, the top level directory is www.laferla.ca so I put www.laferla.ca/weather as the directory and things seem to be uploading now. Should be straightforward now. I'll post results.

Re: Website build problem

Thanks Mark for your intervention. I was wondering why the xxxT files were not being used at all. As far as I know, all this happened automatically and the local /web directory does have the xxxT files in there but cumulus is attempting to upload the different files. And what about realtime.txt. The...

Re: Website build problem

Hi The installation on the pi is exactly the same as on windows and you will recall that prior to my computer crash, this did work. I checked the Mdiags file and it complains about the same thing as ftplog.txt, which is that realtime.txt and realtimegauges.txt are not found but they are there becaus...

Re: Website build problem

HI PaulMy Thanks for this very detailed reply which helps me to understand better how CumulusMX works. I actually manually Ftp'd the xxxT files to the website just in case (!). It did not seem right. Anyway, I am attaching a text file with my webFTP settings. The check marks did not render in the te...

Re: Website build problem

Following the wiki, I uploaded the folders and files from /webfiles to my webspace. The realtimegauges.txt is being correctly created periodically and uploaded to the website. The wiki does not mention anything about the 11 files in /web. I am wondering whether I upload the 11 files in /web (the one...
