Re: Weather Summary for 2018
2018 was an interesting year for us here in suburban SW London. The garden is fairly sheltered as it is an suburban environment and is a bit of a sun trap. Temperature measurements taken in a Stevenson screen (older wood one and not the current plastic spec one) and are probably slight high in the s...

Re: Sunshine hours
A silly question but what is the B-L’s definition of sunshine - is it inline with the WMO definition? The reason I ask is on the 9th of December you have >6 hours of sunshine. I don’t know Canada at all but going on location did you actually get more than 6 hours where the theoretical solar max was ...

Re: HDD or SD Card for CumulusMX
For what it is worth I have been running my original PI for almost four years now and I've never needed to change the SD card (16GB Sandisk). It has been running a shell script ever 5 minutes to collect data from some one wire temperature sensors and saving into a MySQL database and then updating a ...

Re: Data read loop error
Actually, I believe a WMR100 owner has tried it, and that's the same code as the WMR88 code. I think the problem is just in the UV code. Hi Steve, I've finally had chance to do some more testing and it seems to work fine until a UV packet is received from the station as you note, and I do indeed ha...

Re: Data read loop error
Hi,a further update, the same thing happens on a windows 7 laptop (the same one that has been running v1 for more than a year without issue :D ),so it is not related to the PI hardware/software, but seems to be a cumulus 2 issue. It does a few updates, then "Data read loop: Object reference not...

Re: Data read loop error
I've tried with a powered hub and the results are still the same unfortunately. How do I turn debug on, can I put debug=1 anywhere in the settings file? --- ok i've worked out how to turn debug on. Log file with debug on is now attached. Am i correct in saying Cumulus is getting the packets as they ...

Re: Data read loop error
It looks like the USB connection is dropping out. Does this always happen the same way, about 60 seconds after MX starts? If you restart MX, does it read data again for a short time? Does 'lsusb' show the station connected when Cumulus is still running, after the 'object reference...' message occur...

Data read loop error
Hi, is anyone seeing a "Data read loop: Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error in their diags file, then "Data read loop: The operation has timed-out." and no further station updates. I have just put my Oregon Scientific WMR88 onto Cumulus MX 3.0.0 b3024 on m...

Re: Dayfile.txt duplicate lines and highs & lows error
For anyone who has moved their precious data over to CumulusMX for testing or doesn't want to loose any days of data (even though it is a beta version I am sure there are some of you out there) you can use this script with cron at say midnight each day or on sunday evening for example to backup you ...

Re: Dayfile.txt duplicate lines and highs & lows error
I've deleted all the files in the data folder and copied over my old data again and now the highs and lows are all working fine again. I now have cumulus starting up in /etc/rc.loca using "screen -amds bash sudo mono CumulusMX.exe -lang en-GB" and will only start it this way. I will report...

Re: Dayfile.txt duplicate lines and highs & lows error
Sorry I edited my post shortly after to include a zip with all of them.steve wrote:Those logs only go back half an hour or so, I need to see the ones from earlier, back to the start of the day, if they still exist.

Re: Dayfile.txt duplicate lines and highs & lows error
Hi, I have been looking at my dayfile.txt and it seems to now have three lines for 9/10/2015. Could this be because I have maybe had in error three copies of CumulusMX running on my PI. Do you have other reasons to think you might have had multiple copies running, or are you just suggesting that as...

Dayfile.txt duplicate lines and highs & lows error
Hi, I have been looking at my dayfile.txt and it seems to now have three lines for 9/10/2015. Could this be because I have maybe had in error three copies of CumulusMX running on my PI. The final line has pressure as nil, which suggests it could be a second instance running and no data from the weat...

Data file group ownership on Raspberry PI
Hi, I have 3.0 b3019 running on my raspberry pi, and I installed as follows: FTP copy CumulusMX folder + files to user pi folder, all files were given permission 1000,1000 as expected. Now I started up Cumulus and a few hours later I noted that all of the ini files in the data folder now had 0,0 as ...

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
Hi Steve, this is exciting stuff, I've been looking forward to being able to run Cumulus on my Raspberry PI ever since I heard you were working on a new version. Can you add me to your beta testing group please? Current setup is Win7 starter + WMR88 on a netbook but would also want to try Raspbeery ...
