Re: New IP Camera

Live streaming - not such a good idea. There will always be someone or something that hammers the bandwidth! Looks like someone (or more than 1 person) left the live stream running for a 24 hour period. Why?! I used a tremendous amount of bandwidth that, if allowed to continue, would eventually land...

Re: New IP Camera

On IE11 the image fails to appear but the live stream works OK with some initial buffering. FireFox image works fine and live stream is OK but again buffering before it loads. That's curious as I'm using IE11, it's what I set it all up on, but also use Firefox. The buffering I can't help - it's dow...

New IP Camera

Hi all. When I first built my site I had a webcam running through a piece of software (IP Timelapse) that would manage the screenshots and webcam stream for me. It broke though and after much fussing about I removed it from my site. A friend recently showed me his new IP security camera set-up so I ...

New Year New Server!

My old ACER server had been 100% reliable until it suffered a hard drive failure on it's raid array. The trauma of shutting it down and changing the failed drive was all too much for it and it's proven to be unreliable ever since - with it's latest error telling me that the other drive was about to ...

Re: Longest Uptimes?

1033 days, 6 hours & 19 minutes after first booting up the server I had to shut it down to replace a failed hard-drive on the raid array. Good job it was set up as Raid 1 originally! By far the longest uptime any computer I have run has achieved - and likely will ever achieve? I took the opport...

Re: Longest Uptimes?

It's still going!

600+ days now. Only logged in to it to have a look why the camera has stopped working - but turns out the camera itself has failed :(

Still determined not to reboot the server until it stops serving!

Re: Longest Uptimes?

2 months on and it's still churning away happily. 464 days of continuos uptime now. Remarkably I've had a lot of rewiring work in the past couple of weeks, so the power has been off numerous times and for an extended period, so the UPS has had a good work out too! http://www.westonweather.co.uk/syst...

Re: Longest Uptimes?

Does it have .Net 4.5 installed? You're need that if you ever run Cumulus MX. Still that's a very good uptime for a windows box. I honestly don't know, but I don't anticipate upgrading to Cumulus MX for a long while yet. If it aint broke, don't fix it - and it's not. I don't "need" anythi...

I take you only update your computer every couple of years :)
It's a dedicated server behind a firewall that no one uses, so updates aren't that important. Maybe I'll plug a keyboard / mouse & monitor in one day and do them

Longest Uptimes?

My Cumulus server is just about to roll over to 400 days of continuos uptime. Cumulus software itself is currently on 50 days - I've never restarted it, it does it itself from time to time.

Here is my system page: http://www.westonweather.co.uk/system.php

So, just for fun...what are your uptimes?

Re: Cumulus Virus????

I too would be deeply upset to see Cumulus disappear into internet history. It's a great program, uncomplicated, but works very well. I don't touch my Cumulus server month to month, it just keeps running without crashes and without needing reboots. Current server uptime 83 days. I made a donation ab...

Re: UV Sensor

Thank you for your replies. I've found where to switch on the UV data for Cumulus. I guess the proof of the pudding for the index reading will be in a couple of months time. Regards Phil Currently reading UV 2 in the Sunny SouthWest. I have added UV to my pages on the website. http://www.westonweat...
