Re: Cumulus long startup
I've moved this to the Davis section as it's nothing to do with web sites. Regarding your computer running slow: have you looked in Task Manager to see how much CPU Cumulus is using? Do you use Virtual VP? What version firmware is your console running? What version of Cumulus are you using? Hi Stev...

Re: Cumulus long startup
Have you read http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#Cumulus_takes_a_long_time_to_download_the_data_from_my_Davis_station_at_start_up and is your Davis log interval different than your Cumulus interval? Sorry, I can`t help on your computer running slow. I sometimes have my computer and Cumulus run contin...

Cumulus long startup
Hi, I hope this is the correct place to put this. When starting Cumulus it can take anything from a few seconds to over 5 minutes, most of the time when starting it is the latter, is this correct or is Cumulus trying to load files I can delete. I have also noticed when Cumulus is running when I come...

Re: Solar Question
Hi Ron,nitrx wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evapotranspiration i think
Thanks for your very quick reply, checked it up on wiki and agree with you, I never thought of this, I was thinking of "ET" (no I won't go there) as the some sum of the solar Rad and the UV index!
Many thanks,
HKB

Solar Question
Hi,
I hope this is the correct place to post this request? I have just added to My Davis Weather Station Solar and a UV sensors, what I want to know is what is the "ET" reading and what does it measure?
Thanks,
HKB

Re: New menber help
Hi Bob. A far better bet is to get a scrap PC and dedicate it to the job of weather station only ! There are hundreds being binned and the required spec is very low. My WS laptop is a 15 year old HP http://www.philcdav.webspace.virginmedia.com/weather.html Hi philcdav, Thanks for your reply and inp...

Re: VP2 with Weatherlink IP unit and Cumulus problem
You might be able to connect with two PC's by using Virtual VP. I do it all of the time. I don't know if the new Davis firmware effects the IP version the same as it does the USB/serial versions which seems to not work with VVP. http://www.softwx.com/weather/virtualvp.html Hi Jim, Thanks for your r...

Re: VP2 with Weatherlink IP unit and Cumulus problem
Well Steve that was easy  well it was when you know what you are doing 8-) It's all reading correct now so thanks for that, I did know you could not run Cumulus on two PC's at the same time, well I did after trying. I have read the FAQ re the "New record" so that also sorts that out....

Re: VP2 with Weatherlink IP unit and Cumulus problem
This is uploading to CWOP, yes? You probably haven't entered your co-ordinates into Cumulus in the correct format. Can you show what you've put into Weatherlink and Cumulus, and give your CWOP ID, please? Hi Steve, CWOP ID EW3727. Correct uploading to CWOP and viewed via the following link: http://...

Re: New menber help
Make sure you disable any power saving settings. Laptops have a tendency to sleep. You'll need to make sure it doesn't do that while Cumulus is running; this is true of any PC, but laptops tend to have more aggressive power saving settings by default. Hi Steve, Thanks for the reply, I know about no...

Re: New menber help
In order for Cumulus to upload data to a web site, it has to actually be running, or how else could it do it? And for it to be running, your PC must be running. Or perhaps I misunderstand your question? Hi Steve, Thanks for the reply, looks like I will have to install Cumulus on my laptop and leave...

New menber help
Hi to all, I have only signed up to this site today Sunday October 20th. I have only had my Davis weather station up and running since Wednessday October 9th (Weaver View Weather, Nantwich UK). I have the Davis Vantage Pro2 with WeatherLink v6.0.3. This uplinks my weather date to The Internet to the...
