What is the Sync indication on the bottom bar of cumulus screen display
For the past 3 years running cumulus with win7 there has always been Sync displayed to the left of the Last Data Read info at the bottom of the cumulus display. However this has now disappeared. Now using win10 but I think it actually disappeared after I replaced a faulty fine offset Tx and restarte...

Re: Phantom lost sensor contact alarms with Fine Offest
Now you mention it Alan I remember playing with the Tx and creating a loss of data by screening it with foil and yes, the FO console did not go to dashes until about the 9th missed transmission. You would think that that was when the Loss of Sensor flag was created but, from what Steve has said, and...

Re: Phantom lost sensor contact alarms with Fine Offest
Thanks Jim. Having looked at the graph of wind at the period when the alarm occurred you may be right in what you suggest. I've attached a jpg of the time region of the alarm, which was at 1808 57sec and, although there are always plots on the graph, it's interesting that the plot for 1809 is the sa...

Phantom lost sensor contact alarms with Fine Offest
Over the past few months I have been getting a very occasional 'lost sensor contact' alarm on Cumulus. The last time was yesterday. The error log on Cumulus shows just the one line but everything seems to be ok. Each time I have looked immediately at the FO display that is right alongside the PC and...

Re: Is a very low humidity reading an indication of a proble
Thanks for the responses. Alan, tried your suggestion and brought the transmitter indoors for an hour. Still showed RH of 25% whilst the indoor RH was 57% so I have to assume the transmitter unit has a fault. Still under warranty (just :D ) so rang Maplin and replacement unit being sent. Dave Just t...

Is a very low humidity reading an indication of a problem
Over the past 2-3 weeks the rel humidity reading from my fine offset station (as shown on both the unit console and on Cumulus, which is set to calculate the dew point itself) has varied in the range 30 - 80%. It's now 1430 and is at 26%. Earlier this morning at about 0600 cumulus detected a jump fr...

Re: Storing this years data before the new year starts
Thanks Steve (and Phil) That does work Steve. I renamed the 'new' download Cumulus2013 just for my convenience and to make sure I didn't get confused with the active version. (Sorry about ver no. its the latest version and build). I think from what you say about the subset on the 'This Year' screen ...

Storing this years data before the new year starts
I'd like to be able to keep all the 2013 data so that I can see things all the details even after the end of the year. I guess Cumulus will start a new data record from 1/1/14 that may overwrite the 2013 year values. Is there a way to keep all 2013 data as it is on 31/12/13 to be viewed later when r...

Re: AVG scan affecting the Cumulus clock
Definitely need the antivirus here as the laptop is the main PC for home - running Cumulus is just an extra.

Re: AVG scan affecting the Cumulus clock
OK so ... AVG scan as normal during the night and the effect of Cumulus was still the same with 2 instances of "Data input appears to have stopped ...Check your PC etc" alarm. I half expected that as the exception setting is only stopping AVG from actually scanning the Cumulus folder, wher...

Re: AVG scan affecting the Cumulus clock
OK. I've set the Cumulus folder as an exception in AVG scan so I'll see what happens when AVG does a scheduled scan next Monday morning.
Thanks
Dave

AVG scan affecting the Cumulus clock
Cumulus 1.9.4 and Vista Ultimate on a laptop. I Use AVG Free and normally let it do a scheduled scan at 0300, I've noticed that during the period when the scan was taking place I often get one or more "Data input appears to have stopped ...Check you PC etc" errors. Last night I had to do a...

1280 x 800 on a laptop about 5 years old (when 16:10 was the standard widescreen ratio) - no issues

Modification to the display text in the Cumulus error window
Hi Steve, Might it be possible in a future update to change the error display window so that (for example) on a Lost Sensor Contact alarm from a FO, the initial alarm time is shown but then no further ones 'added' every 10 secs until the alarm flag clears, then a text line something like "Senso...
