Re: February 2024 errors with NOAA and rainfall generation

Thanks Mark
So I need to edit the day file in the editor?
Not been doing this I'm afraid. It's not easy in notepad.
Paul My has helped me install v 3082 and its so much better. I have got rusty with editing and haven't used the inbuilt editor. Are the files on my hosts server?

Re: February 2024 errors with NOAA and rainfall generation

I have listed all my errors that I'm finding really difficult to change. This has come about with a Weatherlink 25yr hitch in my records that has corrupted many of the extremes and NOAA entries. I have now updated my CumulusMX to 3282 version. 1. NOAA 29th daily rainfall 20.2mm should be 1.6mm 2. Ex...

Re: February 2024 errors with NOAA and rainfall generation

Original 3091 cmx install-? must have! mind you my most recent data is obviously corrupt as a result of Davis Weatherlink falling over. Just converted comma separated data since August 2020 to excel and all my rainfall within Cumulusmx for February 2024 is spurious. Thankfully Weatherlink is fine.

Re: February 2024 errors with NOAA and rainfall generation

Hi Mark Your " in built editor" may not feature on my old version of CumulusMX version 3.8.1 build 3091. As I've mentioned to Paul My I have always shied away from updating when everything works. Updating for a novice like me may cause more issues. In the short term I've manually edited th...

Re: February 2024 errors with NOAA and rainfall generation

Hi Mark Thanks for this. I I need reminding of the procedure for editing via the built in editor. I did it manually and today I notice yet another 20mm of rain when it should be 0.0mm. If this is the only source where the feed of data comes from, surely its feasible to correct the data? NOAA still i...

Re: February 2024 errors with NOAA and rainfall generation

Hi I've now managed to correct the DAy rainfall editing the dayfile log, but once again NOAA rainfall is being fed from another file that is causing the program to produce huge rainfall totals on a daily basis. How can I correct this ongoing problem without causing any further anomalies. This is my ...

Thanks
No errors with Weatherlink data, or correction factors. It's definitely Cumulus software :P

Re: February 2024 errors with NOAA and rainfall generation

Thanks Sami I deleted the file and replaced it with your corrected file and hey it works! However, not the end of the story since the gigantic rainfall totals are still amiss and continuing, but at least I can see the blatant errors in the two location of "daily rain" and on the "Noaa...

February 2024 errors with NOAA and rainfall generation

It's not been a good month for Cumulus MX as something is corrupting my data files and I'm unable to fix. I have reproduced my NOAA report for this month that isn't updating at all. I've also reproduced my daily rainfall tables that has a recurring error that is giving spurious large rainfall on alm...

Re: Davis Weather Monitor 2 Weatherlink hardware wanted

A repost from last May. I'm still looking! Has anyone got an old Weather Monitor 2 ? I'm looking for the Weatherlink Hardware that attaches to the unit. Obviously it would have to be in working condition. M ine has packed up after 20 years, but I believe they are very robust devices. Thank you Rob ...
